I had something like this on my 428 that was in my 74 F-100. But even with shaved pistons and adding two bottles of Octane 104 boost it still had to watch for it pinging. On the trip to Alaska it ate better than I did.

I wonder sometimes if there is any truth to the rumur of the gas/oil companys keeping the milage of cars low through trickery, buying the rights to said advanced milage devices or just plain working it out so the rich get richer. You scratch my back I'll scratch yours type thing.
