I see the "caravans" heading to Mexico with small truck stuck in box trucks towing another one behind. Most of the time there are three in a row going about 50 mph.

The truck had no license plate, inviting a stop.

In California box trucks and semi's are only required to have a front plate with current tags

I don't run front plates, though they are required by Utah law. It's simply not a priority for Law Enforcement here.

So if the bad guys see a Crown Vic with no front tag they know it's 5-0 immediately.

In Miami all (most) of the unmarked police cars had plates that were obvious, I can't remember exactly now but it was a definite tell, didn't make a lot of sense. I don't imagine no front plate is a give away it just reminded me of the Miami cops.
