    Auto Save

I periodically now see a yellow accented pop-up on the right side of my screen which says "Auto Saved". It appears momentarily and then disappears.

I am very interested in knowing more--since I often could benefit by being able to recover what has been saved----is it for real and if yes how do we access it?

I took me a while to figure this one out!

To recover auto-saved text, you open a new thread and look at the bottom left corner of the text entry box. It is hard to see, but if you mouse-over that area you should see something similar to "restore auto-saved text".

I'm not sure if it works on replies. Using this reply to check.......

Yes, it does, but it seems you must be in edit mode.

How do you get in “edit mode?”

If you see the little yellow "autosave" flag appear, you can leave whatever wisdom you've typed for our enlightenment, and go to another thread...Later you can come back to that original thread, hit the reply button, and you'll be in edit mode...At that point you can restore what you originally wrote......Ben

Can’t tell you how many times in the middle of typing out the solution to the world’s problems, I have managed to douche the whole composition (often when it was Kevin-long) wishing it had been saved somewhere. Can’t wait to try this one next time.

Kevin's method was always to compose in a Word document (also auto-saved), then copy and paste to a posting window...This new way saved you goobers from missing a nugget of priceless wisdom from me yesterday......Ben
