added a front receiver to my 2011 F350

[FONT=Helvetica]So I had a break in the weather and decided to tackle the front receiver install. The receiver is a Curt 31018 specific to the F350 4x4, My 2011 fits the model yr range of this product. I watched the online video and it made the install look easy, It was. Start to finish took less than an hour. Fishing the bolts through the frame was a piece of cake using the supplied hardware. The biggest pain in the butt is that without a lift or putting the truck on ramps or jack stands it was really hard to get leverage on my big torque wrench and crank the bolts to 110/ft pounds. my shoulders and arms got a work out. Main reason I did it was so that Ruth doesn't have to try and manhandle the generator out of a compartment at horse shows where I don't go along. The Torklift sidekick rack securely locks the generator in place and unless someone has an angle grinder, torch or sawzalll on them it's not going to get taken. It can be run from that rack to power the camper AC

    Very nice.

I thought about doing that for two reasons:

To do exactly what you are doing
For backing narrow trailers that can't be seen in the mirrors until it is too late. That one is now more easily solved by the addition of a camera.

I put one on my truck after I bought the fifth wheel trailer. I use it with a "goal post" and basket to haul my canoe when towing.
