    George HW Bush has died

I actually thought he was a pretty good president didn't start too much trouble and seem to be a pretty good leader overall. He lived a long life and got to see his son be president and his other son be governor so I think he did Pretty good over all

I liked him right up until he turncoated on his party in the last election. If it would not have been for the appearance of Ross Perot he would have won a second term in office and maybe saved us from the Clinton nightmare.Even so RIP Pres. Bush.

A man of great integrity---you will be missed. RIP sir

I was impressed by the obvious and honest affection displayed by the local population of Kennebunkport---the Bushs were loved and held in high regard.

I was personally acquainted with one of his SS personal protection detail after he left office...He always spoke of him as a good guy who like to take them fishing off Kennebunkport when they were there...When in Houston, he usually poured them a cup of fresh coffee when they reported to work...Like the rest of us who actually do something other than sit idly by, he had his demons and his detractors, but overall he was a good man...RIP......Ben

I was not a supporter of George HW Bush - but that changed when he left office. I believe he revealed his base character much better and really did strive to improve the world around him. God speed, George.

Neither was I Bill, Clinton did more than either Bush he just had a lot of baggage, plus he was a democrat which meant he couldn't do anything right. The Bush's were Republicans, we all have our strengths!

I'd suggest that is backwards----his party turn-coated on him (and me).

I liked him a lot. He was someone to be respected. Someone to look up to. Someone Presidential.

He was dignified and represented us well. Something we have been missing since his term.

You know I was thinking today after hearing some of George Bush's speeches and thoughts while he was president and it reminded me just how unfortunate it is that we've had such a bunch of divisive malcontents since he left office

The real misfortune is that so many divisive malcontents voted them into office...If that disjointed group of divisive malcontents could get together long enough to elect a non-leader, they can do it again for a true leader...But no one with leadership qualifications even wants the job because they've all seen what the political/media machine can do to distract voters from the issues......Ben
