The U.N. Eco-chondriacs Have Another Meeting Scheduled To Allocate Your Taxes

Starts December 2 in Poland where they plan to put teeth in the infamous Paris Climate Agreement. The U.S. has not formally withdrawn from this abomination yet, but is well under way to do so under Trump’s decisive leadership. Read what they have planned to distribute U.S. funds to foreigners who suffer bad weather events —

...This time might be a tad different because hundreds of billions of dollars are almost on the table. The developing countries, which are the vast majority of UN members, think they have been promised at least $100 billion a year from the developed countries (especially the US), beginning in 2020.

This huge wealth transfer is supposed to at least begin to pay for the developing countries doing their bit to fight climate change. Other tabs are also on the table, including what is called in UN-speak “loss and damage.” This means the developed countries pay for all the damage caused by bad weather, in the name of climate change compensation. I am not making this up. The figure of $400 billion a year has been officially mentioned...

These mullets actually think this will happen and may even have happened had we still been suffering under the reign of fellow-travelers like the last eco-dufus. Stiffing these people is reason #1 wacojoe voted for Trump to release us from their grasp.

I sure hope Trump gets us out of that insanity.

Well gentlemen, even trump can't keep the lid on his own people, and I hate to say it but without action those dollars could be chump change.

Unchecked climate change will cost the US hundreds of billions of dollars and damage human health and quality of life, a US government report warns.

"Future risks from climate change depend... on decisions made today," the 4th National Climate ***essment says.

The report says climate change is "presenting growing challenges to human health and safety, quality of life, and the rate of economic growth".

The warning is at odds with the Trump administration's fossil fuels agenda.

The White House said the report - compiled with help from numerous US government agencies and departments - was inaccurate.

Well, Dave, there is no way of knowing who to believe, or who is right on the subject of the causes of climate change. Each to his own on that.

I believe climate change is real, but I also believe it is a natural cycle of the Earth's climate. It has happened before and it will happen again regardless of what our insignificance in the scheme of things. Therefor, I see no need to throw money at something we have no control over.

Throwing money may be the only thing we have control over...I also think climate change will continue just as it always has, but throwing money has cleaned up to some extent the portion over which we do exercise some control...I know I would not want to to return to breathing the 19th century air of our manufacturing cities, nor the 20th century air of unrestricted transportation emissions...

But the climate accords of Paris are only a politicized sham, and will only result in a reshuffle of power centers while doing nothing to improve the quality of life...Let it end......Ben

I have my own misgivings about the accord and there are multiple ways of implementing change which I would feel better about.

That said, denial of climate change is lunacy. I would rather do what we believe is justified than to do nothing until it is too late.

No one is “denying climate change” or that everything we are supposed to fear has happened innumerable times before. What many of us deny is that humans are the cause of most of it.

To the contrary, trump seems to be in complete denial:

“Brutal and Extended Cold Blast could shatter ALL RECORDS - Whatever happened to Global Warming?” Mr Trump tweeted on Wednesday evening.

Yeah, but Trump is Trump. Most of us have learned to shake our heads and move on.

It is not denial of climate change to note a swing the other way. If you bother to look, you will find many reports of the big radiation source in the sky falling into a period of solar minimum with almost zero sunspots raising concerns of a period of colder temps. The relationship of a decreased solar magnetic field, solar winds and radiation on incoming cosmic rays affecting Earth’s atmosphere and consequent temperature is a major area of study. The relationship of the Maunder Minimum of solar activity, which lasted 70 years starting in 1645 and corresponded with the Little Ice Age is hard to ignore, although those who like to blame humans tend to dispel a pretty obvious variable source as a causative factor. Maybe Mr. Trump is looking at Sol.

If following decades persist with a soar decline, the results will be a good test of theory.

As a suggestion----since NAFTA I have been advocating an environmental plan and implementation to be part of trade agreements.
