Is Trump Trolling by Using Pelosi?

I have a difficult time accepting, on face value, that Trump is backing Nancy Pelosi. I think Trump would like to see Democrats have a "civil war" within the party and the House.

I'm open to other ideas on what Trump is up to - and will appreciate the input from our members.

I'll give it a shot...I just think it's another attempt at misdirection from Trump as he has done since he entered office...He shifts from one foot to the other, taking alternate stances on prevailing subjects...He knows he's a target for the press and for any other political enemies...He just figures a moving target is tougher to hit than a stationary one......Ben

Well it seems that every single thing Trump is for, the Dems are against. Why not back Pelosi and see how they react towards her? If he turns the radical Dems against her, he can make sure that her money raising ways will take a tumble as well. If the radical left gets into power the more moderate central Dems may switch sides and garner some Repub votes, as the R's are not near as radical as what the left has veered towards.

A. The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. The entire House membership votes on its speaker, not just D’s. Therefore, the R’s can swing the vote to whomever they want if the D’s are closely divived. They may truly prefer the Pelosi devil to a more Leftest devil like Marcia Fudge for instance, or

B. As mentioned above, Trump just likes to screw with the D’s minds knowing whatever or whomever he favors is the kiss of death for them.

Then again, both A & B could exist at the same time. But I must say I am not trying to get in Trump’s mind or Pelosi’s/ any Democrat’s because that would be a horrible place to be in either case. In any case, I give no thought to the proposition that Trump is offering his support as a fig leaf on future plans to cooperate and moderate.
