    Moving in

    ....on new devices that is

My cell phone gave up the ghost early last week. Since we were going to Atlanta for the marriage of our niece I had no chance to replace it prior to leaving (don't ask me how I managed to "negotiate" that event)

So---yesterday in the midst of medical appointments I went to Verizon and got a new phone----and tablet

I had--for many years a Samsung 4---now I have a 7; more bulky but still fits in my shirt pocket. It also weighs more than the 4.

It was bundled in a package on sale and included a very nice tablet that has an embedded phone to connect to the internet--which saves me having to set up a hot spot.

So, since I have a lot of applications on my phone and tablet I have spent the major part of the day moving in---and learning my way around the new phone. The tablet was a non-issue

That's funny, I thought I was the only person still using a Samsung 4. When it craps out I'll take Nurse Paula's 7 and get her the latest and greatest model at the time.

Just glad you didn't switch carriers. Last time I did that it took a month to change over the phones. Finally the new carrier gave me a Galaxy9 for the troubles( it cost in the bill somewhere). LOL

My 4 served me well for years but was progressively failing and missed more and more calls.

I don't need a phone that makes breakfast and tucks me in at night. For me, the 4 was a suitable and fully functional solution.

I find the Apple devotees, at times cult like, in their need to stand in line to score the latest model of planned absolelesnce. You have to give Apple credit for a masterful marketing plan!

I have always used Android, the wife, Apple. She has no idea what her phone does or how to use it. Guess who is supposed to provide support?

    I HATE Apple!!!!

Andriod family here. I have an iPhone provided by my employer but only use it for calling in to meetings. I love the sleek feel of the iPhone compared to my Samsung but that is the only positive that I know of.

My 4 is starting to slow down so I may be moving up to the 7 soon...

Skip the 7 and go to the 8. My 8+ is amazing!

I had given my wife one of my old laptops running Windows XP---she drove me nuts. She had an android tablet which seemed far more tolerant of her abuse-----so I got her an HP Chromebook. My life was immediately returned to me

I use an employer provided phone which is an Apple 8+. Some of the other guys use Droids but they seem to have less luck with theirs. I started out with a 3, got a 4, 6 , and now an 8+. I have only had one actually quit working, the rest of my old phones just got passed down. Seems like the droids have to take more steps to get to whatever the operator is doing, and I do not need to do anything any fancier than make a call, send a text or check my mail. Of course I use the music in my truck and take some pics, but thats about it. All the other fancy dancy crap is nothing to me and I am not going to stand in line for anything.
