Knives, Swords, Etc. Legal To Carry In Texas

This law slipped past me last year, so, as of 9/1/17 Texan can carry almost any knife, sword, spear, machete about their person in the state except in specific enumerated places. I could have been carrying my spiffy sword-cane for a year and did not know it.

I can see certain downsides to this perhaps —

Did I say I would only be carrying a sword-cane in my local WalMart?
