An Explanation For The Kaepernick/Nike Caper

What if your spiffy operation of selling your shoes for $150/pr that you make in China & North Korea for $7.67 is threatened by President Trump with his tariffs?

...The agenda is to defeat the Trump-trade-reset; however, they, in this example Levi Strauss (& Nike), cannot openly side with China and Asia against the United States. The PR optics would be horrible…. So they do it covertly by supporting domestic political policies and opposition toward the President who is threatening the construct of their multinational business model.

Together the NFL, Nike and Levi Strauss stand to retain their current level of trade benefit (profit) if President Trump is blocked from instituting America-First trade and manufacturing policies. Supporting gun control (Levi Strauss) or supporting BLM/Antifa (Nike) is simply a tool to support the political opposition of the policy-maker adverse to their financial interests...

I have never worn Levi's, always Wranglers, never liked those little skinny legged girly jeans. Nike has been overpriced and ugly for years. Skechers are more comfortable and cost way less and last a lot longer. Stupid stupid stupid marketing ploy for both. Why would anybody take stand on either side, as either way you lose half the business when you do that. Keep your damn mouth shut and get both sides of the business and let some other idiot give your talking points.

Haven't worn anything but Wranglers since jr. high school. Like Tx said, the skinny legged girly Levis suck. Don't use Nikes, either. Now I will never even try them. I will encourage a boycott of both companies.

The pansy NFL owners need to stand up and inform the players that they are employees and protests of any kind will not be tolerated during working hours. A few lost paychecks should put things back on track in a short time.

Billy, let me know when you are planning the bonfire and I will try to make it.

You ever notice that while JJ Watt of the Houston Texans was raising 37 million dollars for the victims of the floods, he gets no recognition for man of the year award, yet a washed up has been QB making his stupid kneeling, a political point, get s that award? Pathetic.

I think that was closer to $42 million. And yes, he is one hell of a man!

If ya all had come up to this girlie hippie back forty years ago messing with me about the brand of pants I wear I'd have punched you in the mouth. I've got skinny everything at 150 pounds I wore skinny everything.

Nike is an edgy hip type company an ad campaign like this it's not surprising at all. Frankly it doesn't mean anything at all to me.

I thought the most relevant part of the piece was the reveal that Nike shoes are made in North Korea then filtered through China as if that made them more respectable.

Using slave labor or paying them pennies a day to work in a sweat shop, to sell expensive shoes, to pay a spoiled rotten brat who kneels on the flag that millions of lives were given for to make sure he was free to do that. Nike is making people furious over a stupid platform that kicks sand in the face of veterans and LEO's all across America. They can kiss my ass.

I hope it sinks Nike, Levi's and him real deep! I haven't worn Levi's since Wranglers went to $15 and my next pair of shoes will not be Nike. I'm just going to do it!

I would start a personal boycott of Nike, but I’ve never bought anything they have ever made. I knew what they were from the getgo. I did play a Nike golf ball I found once though. They quit making those now.

What happened to the days when product makers supported BOTH sides because we were not so biased and both sides were real close on their ideology.

It seems as though everyone would rather just fight then try and act like a decent human. How this whole mess got started is ridiculous! If I pay someone millions of dollars a year they don't get a choice on how I want to run my company. Stand up like a man or quit and go home! I'm not going to debate with the employees!
