Agents Tried to Flip Russian Oligarchs. The Fallout Spread to Trump.

    This will confuse the programmed.

WASHINGTON — In the estimation of American officials, Oleg V. Deripaska, a Russian oligarch with close ties to the Kremlin, has faced credible accusations of extortion, bribery and even murder.

They also thought he might make a good source.

Between 2014 and 2016, the F.B.I. and the Justice Department unsuccessfully tried to turn Mr. Deripaska into an informant. They signaled that they might provide help with his trouble in getting visas for the United States or even explore other steps to address his legal problems. In exchange, they were hoping for information on Russian organized crime and, later, on possible Russian aid to President Trump’s 2016 campaign, according to current and former officials and associates of Mr. Deripaska.

In one dramatic encounter, F.B.I. agents appeared unannounced and uninvited at a home Mr. Deripaska maintains in New York and pressed him on whether Paul Manafort, a former business partner of his who went on to become chairman of Mr. Trump’s campaign, had served as a link between the campaign and the Kremlin.

They have already got a conviction of Manafort, no matter what, he has been found guilty and will be sentenced soon. That conviction can never be reversed, so if he is going to do the time anyway, why keep this dead ass story going? Because without the Trump mess, the NYT is nothing but a failed empire running on its last life.

1st, he can be pardoned. 2nd he's about to be tried for a 2nd set of crimes. 3rd, NY state is looking into state tax crimes for which Trump can't pardon him for. 4th, why do you believe ppl shouldn't be held accountable for all their misdeeds once theyve been convicted of something?

I'm not sure what you might have read---or maybe didn't bother to read because that all borders on bizarre--even for you

If Manafort could not be persuaded to turn after the first 80 year sentence, what good is it going to do to give him 80 more years? Well yes he can be pardoned, how stupid is the left and the media to think that was not an option?

Before you blast my ass with that pathetic "Holding people accountable" scripture, many have been saying the same thing about a certain someone who was never held to account. Hearing that fake bull**** drip out of the mouths of liberals is close to alligator tears to me. To top it all off, your fake ass NY BS paper did nothing about this for how many years....and now act like it is such a big deal. He was cheating on his taxes when Rosenstein was a junior league lawyer, so it was no surprise that this particular man was hounded after Trump won. NOTHING, nothing ever happened before Trump won, so again, dont flood me with your alligator tears.

Apparently you are having a discussion with yourself James because it has nothing to do with the subject.

Getting a pardon doesn't reverse a conviction, it's a get out of jail free card but it doesn't reverse anything. I think, not sure but the original conviction stays on ones rap sheet but has "pardon" listed as result beside said crime. I've had crimes thrown out of court "innocent" but those crimes are still on my rap sheet.
