Well it looks like we just got some great news this storm is quickly losing it's wind impact. It looks like it could be as low as 90 to a hundred miles per hour at landfall. So hopefully that will minimize the impact of damage from wind. However it still appears that it could cause substantial water damage and flooding. That's great news this is not going in as a category three or four.

Just to keep things straight I don't want to be here but if I haul ass and the girl I rent from (First ex wife) gets into trouble does anybody here know who's fault that will be??? I've got to have a place to live when this is all over so I have to do what I have to do. I'm not trying to be a hero.

Well the storm is coming in now and the wind speed is certainly a great news so I don't think we're going to be looking at disastrous structural damage but the floods look like they could be devastating in certain areas. I'm so hopeful that will get out of this without tremendous loss of life

Weather channel isn't letting up a bit but it's clear that the storm has died down , still dangerous but I'm thinking a lot of us have been saved at the last minute. So yea I'm with you, hoping the flooding isn't as wide spread as they are predicting, and that the storm continues to die out.

The unnamed Thingy-in-the-Gulf is proving to be a nice little rain shower over here.

My little stretch of the woods over here has had from 5 to 7 inches in the last five days.

You doing alright guys need to lighten up. I make $700 a month and I don't get that until the first. My truck has 250,000 miles on it. I'm not going to jump in my worn out truck and go riding around with no money to even put fuel in the truck much less eat. If my truck broke down in Georgia or where ever I go means it's gone, I'd have no way to get it home period. I could sleep in it until the beginning of the month and hope I've got the money and tools to fix it and still get back home, but that doesn't sound like a good idea to me any more than any others I've thought of.. I think I'll just camp out here and hope the roof stays on.

A lot of folks are in your position Mike. Don't feel bad about it. Worse things have happened.

That said if there was a shelter in the area I would have headed there, hunkered down and got out as soon as I could.

Everything here is wonderful. We've had rain for three day straight but a light rain at that. No limbs down no power down, just wet gloomy weather, but better than what a lot are going through.

We just had one hell of a storm. The only one as a matter of fact, power out, has to be some branches down, somewhere anyway!
