It is a sad state that we find ourselves in, one in which science is replaced by politics. Your numbers are frankly worthless as they "relate" to science, but that does not mean they are not twisted and spun in the interest of politics.
You introduced the "scientific" explanation for warmer nights--dismissing that as being related to the impact of cities. I am unable to quantify that impact but I can tell you the use of that "fact" is typical of the political crowd--who disdains the science.
The same reason you include to explain higher nighttime temperatures also decreases the daytime temperatures----did your source mention that?
A city is one huge heat sink, the streets, sidewalks, buildings--even the cars are energy absorbers. They absorb the suns energy during the day and release it at night. In exactly the same way that they can retain a higher temperature during the night they can have the opposite impact during the day as they require more energy to increase in temperature.
Did your source mention that?
BTW, not that it is germane to the science but I believe we have or are close to a record number of 90+ deg days in the NYC area. Yesterday at 5 PM it was 100F.
