I feel certain it is punitive, but I don't see how free speech enters into it. If the boss has no faith in a person he waves bye-bye. End of story.

Yes, why is that so hard to understand?

Brennan is no longer in government---- he had gone bye-bye before this ever began.

No person accusing a president of the United States of treason should have a security clearance. No exceptions.

Maybe Brennan should be reminded that he yanked the security clearances of the guys defending the CIA complex in Benghazi because they would not lie and tell the American public that the video was what caused the rioting. Oh wait....Chris "Tanto" Paranto, one of those men who lived through the ordeal after making the movie 13 Hours, told Brennan on his Twitter feed. I am assuming that Brennan did not reply or protest that action.

I'm curious, Dave, how many of your ex-employees still have computer codes and keys to your intellectual property?

Good analogy. I could see if a temp needed to be issued to talk about OLD intel, to bring some new people up to speed at what was done before, but I would not read them in on what is going to happen or is being planned present day. No matter what I would not mention any names of operatives or anyone working now.

To access information after they have left is not likely since we, as standard procedure, remove their permissions to access the system. However, they could walk out the door everyday with a thumb drive in their pockets, albeit illegal.

That said, and having been involved in both, corporate security and national security are different ends of the spectrum, as one might expect. We do employ need to know rules where an employee might have access to intercultural property but no access to financial information and vice versa. I believe that is generally the case with most companies.

One key difference between corporate espionage and the same in the intelligence community is that with few exceptions the results of compromised information will be apparent. That is not always the case in intel. Case in point, the breaking of the German Enigma code--which only had value because the Germans did not know it.

...and you all ignore that he was "punished" by Trump for exercising that right.

Just for the record, I am not in agreement with some of what Brennan has done and said---but I do believe that he has the right to say it without being "punished" by Trump. If Trump thinks he is being slandered--then pursue it in the courts----Lord knows Trump has no shyness when it comes to legal recourse.

Sorry, no one gets to exercise his free speech rights and make his bones trading off of national secrets.

How was he punished? I would not have a person like that come back and "help" with anything, such hatred and venom as spewed out by Brennan, would not be considered a person who would be helpful at anything.

If someone uses 'fighting words' you cannot just punch them out so what is wrong with a little punitive action.
