    Zeigler Extended Warranty

What are your thoughts on extended Warranties?

Zeigler sells genuine extended warranty Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans, products of FCA that are entered into FCA's computer system and will be honored at all FCA dealerships...

Now I've never been a fan of them & not sure now....

The 18 SRT Charger is a one year vehicle in the F8 color, it's not going to e ever made again & in a month or so I'll be able to tell how many F8 Green SRT Chargers were produced in our configuration worlds wide....

Anywhoo, we now have almost 10,500 miles on the car, it's got the standard 3/36 warranty......

Can get a 6/100,000 for $2,350.00 I can't see getting one under 100k miles as many as we have already put on.....and will be putting on lots more hopefully....

Not sure we are going to keep this car, in 2020 the Dodge Charger will be having a best ever updating & it all depends on what that turns out to be....

    Thoughts, words of wisdom......

    Not worth it.

Among survey participants who used their policy, the median out-of-pocket savings on repairs covered by extended warranties for all brands was $837. Based on a $1,214 average initial cost, that works out to a net loss of more than $375.
Granted that was a 2014 survey by consumer reports.

My son paid for the extended warranty of his Chrysler 300 several years ago, but when he needed it for a substantial repair they refused it on grounds he had not had some hokey required intervening check done. He even went up the chain to Chrysler and got nowhere. He concluded it’s a scam.

Yeah.. Too many loopholes in those types of policies.

If you bought a piece o sh!t - get the extended plan.
If you bought a good piece o **** - skip the plan..

typically you do not come out ahead with a warranty unless you own a piece of sh!t...... you be the judge.

Extended warranties are nothing more than a scam to make you get all your service at the dealership. So if you happen to get a lifetime warranty and do all of your service as required in the Manual at the dealership you would have probably been able to pay for a new engine and transmission with the savings from not having done the maintenance at a dealership by the time they actually fail.

Case in point on my 2014 Lexus ES an oil change and tire rotation is about $189. Now the actual cost to change the oil in my home using Lexus OEM filters is about 39 bucks. I buy my tires at Sam's Club so I pay for no rotation or balance for the life of the tires now just figure out how much money that I have saved in a hundred thousand miles. And then go figure if that engine and transmission actually is going to fail in that. Of time and you will see from an Actuarial point of view it's just not going to happen so once again like I said earlier it sounds good but it's nothing
