    Zeigler Extended Warranty

What are your thoughts on extended Warranties?

Zeigler sells genuine extended warranty Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans, products of FCA that are entered into FCA's computer system and will be honored at all FCA dealerships...

Now I've never been a fan of them & not sure now....

The 18 SRT Charger is a one year vehicle in the F8 color, it's not going to e ever made again & in a month or so I'll be able to tell how many F8 Green SRT Chargers were produced in our configuration worlds wide....

Anywhoo, we now have almost 10,500 miles on the car, it's got the standard 3/36 warranty......

Can get a 6/100,000 for $2,350.00 I can't see getting one under 100k miles as many as we have already put on.....and will be putting on lots more hopefully....

Not sure we are going to keep this car, in 2020 the Dodge Charger will be having a best ever updating & it all depends on what that turns out to be....

    Thoughts, words of wisdom......

    Not worth it.

Among survey participants who used their policy, the median out-of-pocket savings on repairs covered by extended warranties for all brands was $837. Based on a $1,214 average initial cost, that works out to a net loss of more than $375.
Granted that was a 2014 survey by consumer reports.

My son paid for the extended warranty of his Chrysler 300 several years ago, but when he needed it for a substantial repair they refused it on grounds he had not had some hokey required intervening check done. He even went up the chain to Chrysler and got nowhere. He concluded it’s a scam.

Yeah.. Too many loopholes in those types of policies.

If you bought a piece o sh!t - get the extended plan.
If you bought a good piece o **** - skip the plan..

typically you do not come out ahead with a warranty unless you own a piece of sh!t...... you be the judge.

Extended warranties are nothing more than a scam to make you get all your service at the dealership. So if you happen to get a lifetime warranty and do all of your service as required in the Manual at the dealership you would have probably been able to pay for a new engine and transmission with the savings from not having done the maintenance at a dealership by the time they actually fail.

Case in point on my 2014 Lexus ES an oil change and tire rotation is about $189. Now the actual cost to change the oil in my home using Lexus OEM filters is about 39 bucks. I buy my tires at Sam's Club so I pay for no rotation or balance for the life of the tires now just figure out how much money that I have saved in a hundred thousand miles. And then go figure if that engine and transmission actually is going to fail in that. Of time and you will see from an Actuarial point of view it's just not going to happen so once again like I said earlier it sounds good but it's nothing

Car is not yet 6 months old and we have 10,730 some miles on it......

Dealer oil Change $124 and any other place we go is $140 to $170.

Dealer will install SRT racing filter and Royle Purple oil at that $124, none of the other places will install the the SRT filter or RP oil.....unless I bring it it....

Just got 4 oil changed in 2 years for $245 from Mopar, yep, I pays $245 up front for 4 oil changes that are a minimum of $124.......So the dealer does the oil changes...and I don't pay anything for the next 3....as I just got one yesterday......

Purchased the 5/85k mile extended warranty for $1,300ish....that comes with 3 replacement key fobs no questions asked....that is the Mopar one that is sold at dealers for 3 times that....

Car has been in shop 2 times, high pressure oil leak & both times got a rental car from Dodge.....

Now with this extended warranty, we take the car in for a oil change, we get a "free" rental car for as long as the car is in the shop, Dodge will provide a rental....up to $35 a day unless it needs to be in the shop over night and then you get the rental as long as it's in the shop....

I've been doing Blackstone oil analysis for 3 oil changes now, under this warranty I take the oil analysis in and it shows how metal, hig contaminants that point to a spun bearing, no question asked Mopar will pull the motor and rebuilt it as if they 100% know the bearings are spun......

This weekend in a car show 130 miles from home, looks like we might be going back to Calif for a few days, when we get back, I've got a slot at private road course/track that different LE agencies up for drivers training and it's designed for up to 180mph.......what to know what my goal is......

Car is ran hard and put away ert more often than not....and I run hit hard using the paddle sifters....and covered by Warranty....

With everything we are doing and the umber of miles burn up in your back alley......

Wow... lots of shop time. Maybe a warranty is needed in this case.

Well if you're going to run the living hell out of the thing and they will cover it under an extended warranty then hell yeah I buy it and take a chance cuz there's no question you're going to break that Dodge I'd just go ahead and count that as a fact

I've got a 1994 F-250 Diesel with 233,000 on it. I just got back from Clare Mich in it, averaged over 23 MPG and never had a hiccup. 1800 miles this trip and still running strong, this after being totaled twice. I love that truck!!

Yeah, I loved my 2000 diesel Excursion until it blew the water pump, when my daughter borrowed it for a move and fried the engine.

My daughter totaled this truck 4 days after I got it. I just replaced my water pump a month ago. Surprisingly easy on a non tubo 1994. A bear on a 2000 for sure. I had 25 miles to go after I saw the river of water running out of it at my sons house, the needle never hit hot.

I took a chance and replaced the pump and the head gaskets for close to $3k, as I remember, but after a month that failed too. It was at that point facing an $8k engine replacement on a 12 year-old truck with 150,000 miles on the clock, I decided I did not love it that much and traded the remains for my F-150, which I like, but do not love.
