Painted Bunting In Our Bird Feeder

We were thrilled with our most beautiful local bird this week, when we looked out to find a Painted Bunting eating from our bird feeder. He did not stay but a few minutes and we are hoping for return visits, but this relatively rare bird was exquisite. I got no photos, but this stock one can give you an idea why we enjoyed his visit so much. I had a smile on my face all day being reminded what is a Wonderful World in which we live.

    Fantastic----I'm envious

We do have Indigo Buntings at the cottage---when they are there at the same time as a male Cardinal it is wonderful to see.

I've seen a Painted Bunting maybe 3-4 times in my life. Only once at my current home and I've been here 29 years. Beautiful birds!
