I got behind a Tesla on the Long Island Expressway this afternoon---headed west. Nothing unusual you say----except for one detail---he had California plates.
How many charging stations do they have in Kansas?

1,308 Supercharger Stations with 10,622 Superchargers just in North America alone....However, we can not go North and have a charging station within our paths of travel......
Plus they are talking about swapping out battery packs and they have a towed behind diesel generator that charges so you can go off the grid....
How do you know it was driven from Cali and not transported.
Ahh yes, Charging Stations. How much fossil fuel does it take to run one of those ?. And gee, aren’t batteries so eco friendly when you have to get rid of them. Also, the generator for off road I’m sure runs off solar power, right?. Or does it in fact also use those nasty fossil fuels.
But they are driving a Tesla and are SO, eco. aware. We should all try to follow their lead and get rid of all our gas burners. Shut off the A/C in the summer and just wear sweaters and parkas in the winter.

I’ve been trying to digest what I’ve been reading about the charging process for EV’s. My conclusion is that Tesla’s plug configuration is different from the standards of all the others and Tesla’s can only be charged at those stations with their plugs. Maybe some stations have both types? An operator also has a plug which can be plugged into any 110 outlet too, I think, but that takes forever.
I am looking forward to owning one of these critters someday. It’s on my bucket list.

Yes Tesla has it's own plug, you can use 110 in emergency, o when you have days as it's stupid slow.....
I like how they drive, do not kike how quiet they are or the crappy range......however, you can get them that are stupid fast......I could not believe how they git up and go and the ride is fabulous...
While I love the muscle car, the noise it mages in the streets of SF.....up and down the hills....it's not the destanation, it's how you get there and in the green car, it's been fun....very fun.....
I liked the “look at me” rumble of power when I was a teenager, but that passed a long time ago. I like the idea of stealth power now...the stealthier the better. Even or especially when I rode street bikes I had the quite power of a Jap straight four and detest the gurgle buckets like Harley’s. I could never understand the appeal of something that loud and would take several of your friends to help if it ever fell over to get it upright.

That's what I thought.......till the SRT Charger......and now, there's something in it that males me giggle like a school girl when you piss off a Prius driver making so much noise they have to check and see if they are turned on....or echoing up and down the mighty streets of San Francisco setting off those pesky car alarms, can't wait to see if the sounds came across on the camera...to beig tols the car is "illegal" it's so loud.....however, it's really quiet except on cold start up or when ya get on her good......
If I knew how to post videos, have a Thinkware F770 front/rear camera I'm just learning how to take the videos off of....Have a couple of the PCH and one of Carmel by the Sea posted on Facebook.
