    All out and safe

The 12 Thai soccer players and their coach who have been trapped in a cave in northern Thailand for more than two weeks have all been rescued. “We are not sure if this is a miracle, a science, or what. All the thirteen Wild Boars are now out of the cave,” the Thai Navy SEALs posted on their Facebook page.

The dramatic story of the boys who hiked into the Tham Luang Nang Non cave system on June 23 and then became trapped by floodwaters has riveted people around the world. It took an increasingly happy turn over the last three days, as an international team of divers brought out the boys in three stages.

Everyone--including all the rescue team are out and safe.

I was remiss in not mentioning his death dome days ago.

Awaiting the movie. It has the makings of a good one, especially for divers.
This rescue reminds me very much of the mine cave-in rescue in Chili, or was it Peru, a few of years ago. Great relief for everyone.

Glad that story had a happy ending, hats off to all of those who helped and I know those boys and their families have breathed a huge sigh of relief.

I'm very happy that the young men were rescued. Now I hope the government will put a cement block over the opening to that cave

Saw an update today on the boys who were taken to a hospital. The first ones that came out on Sunday are able to eat solid food. The second group is starting to eat soft food now as well. The last bunch that came out, two of the boys have a slight lung infection but are expected to heal completely.

As I read further in the article a short time after the last of the boys got out, a major pump failed and the cave was flooding. The last of the rescuers had to scramble to get out before they were flooded in. Talk about in the nick of time. Somebody was sure watching out for them.

Re the pump failure; I read that after the pump failed the water level rose so quickly that they had to abandoned a lot of gear they were still pulling out.

Yes, thank god the people made it out. The gear can be replaced or retrieved later. We forget that caves are usually caused by water being there to begin with.

Why? just because some people did something stupid? With that reasoning we need to put tall fences around every drop off in every wilderness area and seal every cave in the world. **** will happen, I don't believe in letting the stupid actions of the few adversely affect the adventures of the many.

Now that this “attraction” is known, if left open to access I can feel confident that knuckleheads all over the world will make plans to enter and test their bravery just as the kids and their idiot coach apparently did.

If I am not mistaken, I think I read somewhere that they were not supposed to be in there to begin with. Now whether it was due to the monsoon season or it was off limits all year round is another story.
