The president makes a supreme court appointment

Seems like the president has settled in on Brett Kavanaugh. It seems that it is an impeccable choice that is subject to no outside or nefarious activities that could derail his confirmation. Now we will just see the gutter politics that the Democrats will play to keep him from being confirmed.

I think any of the men were good choices---I was not so hot on Judge Barret.

She seems to be more of an activist judge, although her tenure is rather short.

The reaction from the Dems is simply scripted

Sadly now the sideshow will begin, with political hacks and pundits all vying for their face time, saying the most outrageous and hateful things to support their party. I feel that having the argument about the most important thing to consider about "hiring any judge or politician", is their ability to defend the right to kill an unborn child, is just crazy. As an example I give the past couple of weeks where people were so concerned about kids being separated from their families at the border and now just the opposite is true, these same people want it to remain legal to kill any unborn child? What happened?

Judge the candidate on their merits and past actions, it is that simple. All judges, hell we all have a past that can be looked at to see how we handled ourselves in the past. If the record is good put them to work, if it is not, send them packing...but to subject the person and their family to some sort of political lynching is beyond the pale. That needs to stop.

I’m having trouble with your graph. Can you supply the source? I am wondering how a judge’s ranking in a numerical scale is derived.

I think he's got some issues but will make it on the court.

    and then there is this

While Fox News opinion hosts gushed about President Donald Trump’s decision to nominate Brett Kavanaugh to replace Anthony Kennedy on the U.S. Supreme Court, the set of “Fox & Friends” was a bit cooler on the idea.

On set, Fox News legal guru Judge Andrew Napolitano laced into Kavanaugh, saying he was “disappointed” in the selection.

“The Washington establishment, sometimes known as the swamp, wanted Judge Kavanaugh,” said Napolitano. “I am disappointed in the president because this is not the type of person he said he would pick. Justice [Neil] Gorsuch was. This person is at the heart and soul of the D.C. establishment against whom the president railed.”

So you’re saying it’s a swamp pick?!” asked co-host Pete Hegseth.

    “Yes!” said Napolitano.

Well he was on the list of 25 from the very beginning so it is not like Trump was swayed in any way from almost 2 years ago. Napolitano has had his bouts of swinging wildly from one side to the other, I agree with him maybe half the time. He is just like all of the other pundits, they all have their opinions, just like us.

Trump wanted a nominee that he could get confirmed before the midterms there's really nothing more to it than that.

All it means is that you can't please everybody.....

What remains to be seen is he the best person for the job at this time....

We know the Democrats will without fail crucify him and if not enough dirt shows up, they will make it up by anonymous sources.......that much we know without a doubt....

I wonder if anyone is setting up a betting pool on how many women they will trot out to smear his name?
