I guess we should just disregard our laws and let everyone and anyone just waltz across our borders and do whatever they like so we do not split up family members? Where are the consequences for breaking our laws? It is not like the kids are being treated inhumanely, they are being taken care of, their parents or so-called parents put their lives in danger long before they came to America. I guess we should now empty all of the jails and prisons all across our Country because parents are separated from their kids?

I see no logic behind that kind of thinking, they are no better or worse than American citizens who have broken other laws and had to go to jail. The only difference is that the American govt is not providing food, water, shelter and medical attention for the people who are in jails and prisons all across the country, for the kids of the felons in prison. Same same in my book.

Instead of playing footsie with the Mexican govt, who is actually encouraging people to come to America illegally and break our laws, maybe they should be harder on them for allowing the same rule breaking to occur in their Country. All of these people who come here wanting what we have should look at out history. We fought for our freedom, we had slavery, we had a civil war, we fought and died in 2 world wars to help others attain their freedom, and we have worked hard to make our Country a great place. Maybe these people should stay home and fight for theirs so they can have the same kind of paradise to live in, running is not going to fix the probllem, we have our customs, we have our laws, make your own.

Somehow I do not think for the vast majority who came unaccompanied, that is the wish of the parents who sent or let them go in the first place.

Few two year olds travel alone.

You continue to try to deflect the issue being discussed---we are speaking of family units that have been separated by ICE after crossing the border--period.

10,000 out of 12,000 in our custody came unaccompanied, Dave. Most are reportedly teenagers although I have seen no statistics. I did see a bunch were unloaded off an airplane in NYC and reporters observed many needed a shave.

The very small children who must have come accompanied are a small minority, some of them being used as props by non-parents. Wouldn’t we all like to know real numbers of those bonafide family units with small children to get excited about?

You don't give up do you?

I (we) have been discussing the 2000+ children accompanied by family members---period---and many have been observed by reporters pooping in already dirty diapers. Are we done now?

Many reportedly were not accompanied by real parents at all. Kind of hard to know without a dna test. Are we to send those off with whomever is using them?

Dirty diapers are going to set national policy? I don’t think so.
Don’t you imagine that whomever was transporting a baby through the badlands of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona did a far worse job of changing diapers than our detention centers? Releasing them to the barios is going to assure clean diapers?

I just wish the poor children in some areas of the county I live in who live in mangled single-wide trailers with crackhead mother's and Daddy's we're getting the attention that these kids at the border are getting. That makes me really sad.

Let's be really clear here nobody really knows the numbers nobody really knows who came in with who and for anybody claim they do is absolutely foolish. I certainly don't believe the media.

When we make our borders an open invitation to all comers, we should expect this —

That is more the norm, why is it so hard to believe that these kids have probably been stolen from their parents for the simple reason of exploiting the stupid laws of our Country? Parents, really, would you put your kids through all of this crap?

I find it almost unbelievable how stupid our politicians are, they have organized all kinds of protests against ICE, and ICE has nothing to do with the separation of parents and kids. They have raised hell and held rallies and do not know what they are talking about, that it is the Border Patrol that is working the borders. The Border Patrol has done this as their main job since I was a kid, yet these highly educated politicians do not have a clue who is doing what. They should go back and do some investigating on what the job of ICE is and what the job of Border Patrol is.

I grew up with kids of BP agents, I know friends that I went to school with have become BP agents and they are laughing that the "elite" do not have a clue as to what they are talking about.

I know every day we say that and it just proves us right over and over but nothing ever changes. I wish Trump would start pushing harder, if the idiot prosocuters can't handle the prosocution get somebody that can. He is never going to win a popularity contest why not start taking them down, the clock is ticking and it's not in our favor. I'm one of the lucky ones I got to spend time in Romania and the Ukraine etc... I got to talk to the people, we don't want what they had and all but the very old will tell you that, yet we keep on pushing. What's the definition of insanity
