The downward spiral of the GOP

    https://www.rollingstone.com/politic...erated-w521978 .

This present strain of know-nothingism has long been in the party's DNA.
This cancer has always been there. This dormant cancer. But it has become fully embraced in this moment. We're seeing at this moment a president of the United States do five things. He is using mass rallies that are fueled by constant lying to incite fervor and devotion in his political base. The second thing we see him do is to affix blame for every problem in the world. Many of them are complex, not so different from the issues faced at the end of Agrarian age and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. We see him attack minority populations with words like "invade" and "infest." The third thing he does is a create a shared sense of victimization caused by the scapegoated populations. This is the high act of Trumpism: From Trump to Sean Hannity to Laura Ingraham, everyone is a victim. The fourth thing he does is he alleges conspiracy by nefarious and unseen hidden forces – the "deep state." And the fifth thing is the assertion that "I am the law, that I am above it." He just said immigrants don't get a hearing; they don't get a court representation.
his explanation regarding Palin is interesting. Yes the reaction to her was definately a symptom that something was going very wrong.. I will never forget the McCain rallies where ppl shouted that Obama was a Muslim and literally crying over his not willing to parrot the stupid.

Under Trump, he wrote, the party had become "corrupt, indecent, and immoral." With the exception of a select few, the GOP was "filled with feckless cowards who disgrace and dishonor the legacies of the party's greatest leaders."
I really don't think it goes all that deep. Does it apply to Trump? Yeah, I think so. But, it is still better than the alternative. It sucks to have to go with the lesser of two evils.

Thank you for sharing I'm waiting on the Rolling Stone expose' of the corruption in the Department of Justice and the FBI. That will be a good read. The article you have linked to is partisan tripe.

Yep, let's throw all of the old timers out and get a new bunch of coconuts that can only stay two terms, work for less and they lose benefits after their last day. We already started with an unconventional POTUS with Trump, keep up the good work.

Well many places are having trouble finding qualified people to work. For the first time in a long time, there are more jobs than workers. I fail to see how even the most simplest of minds can not see that. I guess to have the Dem leadership pass off that big of a lie, they must be ruling the "inferior" thinkers. For the life of me, how do people walk through life everyday and not notice things happening around them, yet they will let some blowhard on TV tell them how miserable they really are?

Trump claimed that economic growth has “never” been below zero until last quarter’s drop, which is far from true. It has been below zero 42 times since 1946.
He said “there are no jobs” to be had. In fact, there were 5.4 million job openings recorded at the end of April, the most in 15 years.
He said the “real” unemployment rate is “anywhere from 18 to 20 percent” and “maybe even 21 percent.” We see no factual basis for this opinion.

It's all going to hell in a handbasket thank you for being the first to point that out. I think Hillary is going to run again maybe you guys can get her elected maybe this time we won't have to listen to all the crap how about Russian interference because we all know if Hillary was elected it would be the most wonderful thing that ever happened to our country
