The Department Of Health & Safety Secretary explains to a dense press that 10,000 of the 12,000 children in their brief custody were taken from smugglers not parents. The parents were so worried about being separated they sent their children to another country alone or with strangers. Undoubtedly, those in the custody of DHS are in the best facilities of their precarious lives.

After the short period of retention perhaps they should be dispersed to the extravegant homes of the grandstanding complainers like Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush (whose husband initiated the separation policy), Michelle Obama (whose husband expanded and furthered the policy), Oprah, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, and virtually everyone in show biz stumping for a headline until their parents bother to come across the border and retrieve their children or do it the right way and apply for legal status at a port of entry.

If I was arrested for a crime and had my kid with me in the car, I would be separated from my child as I went to jail and they would be taken and put into CPS or some other agency until their next of kin could come and get them. What is the damn difference?


Hilliary damn Clinton was not squawking like a chicken when her Husband and Janet Reno used automatic rifles to go into a house and take little Elian Gonzales from his relatives and forcibly send him back to Cuba. The same bunch was sure quiet when they roasted alive all of the Branch Davidian children in Waco, with tanks.


As far as caring about children, these same Dems have been standing on the backs of dead babies for years with their abortion stance, so their howls fall on my deaf ears now.


I am sure that Kate Steinlee's parents wish she had not been separated from them by some damn illegal, who was repeatedly let back into the country.



Like was pointed out earlier, these kids were not taken care of in the first place. Their parents were not taking the best care of them if they made them endure endless dangers crossing mountains and deserts without food and water. Not to mention those who are being used by smugglers to either bring in contraband or to be sold as slaves by their "parents". With their medical care, a safe place to sleep and food, water and clothing being given to them in the shelters, they are much better off than they have ever been in their entire lives.


Are they scared, hell yes they are. I would be and every single one of us would be, but they are not being treated badly as some of the lying politicians and MSM are making this out to be.

I agree with both Dave and IV, with one exception, don't spend money taking them to Mexico City, just across the border is far enough.

The worst thing about the situation is a parent in Guatemala giving their 12 year-old girl a pocket full of contraception pills because the chances of rape along the way are well known and wishing her well as they shove her out the door on the way to hopping a train across Mexico, as one Border Patrol agent related as a true incident to an astonished CNN reporter.

Unaccompanied by parent minors are 5/6 of the minors crossing our borders illegall in our custody. What are we supposed to do with them when stopped by Border Patrol agents? Give them back to the coyote they came across with and wish them all a good day? The sob sisters apparently have no good concept of what is actually happening and certainly no solution for the rush on our borders they encourage by offering sustenance and nurture for the hoards wantingvto come. “Build it and they will come.” The more inviting you make it, the more will come to taste it. Look at California, which built the most inviting welfare system in the country and wonders why their streets are filled with sleeping bags, tents and literally tons of human feces. I’ve got news, California, the two are connected...wise up. What you subsidize and invite, you get more of.

If you really believe we should welcome these non-citizens, then tell me you volunteered to be a sponsoring family when those children are released after their 20 days of confinement. Put your money and house where your mouth is.

I do not see any sign that the naysayers and protestors make any distinction between children without their real parents and those few with them or even acknowledge there is a difference.

Our porous borders are considered an open invitation and foreigners treat them that way. Half our population likes it that way. I do not. A country without real, enforced borders is a territory not a country.

Load em up and ship em back. This is what happens when you do not enforce the existing laws for years and let people just cross willy nilly. Having people worry about it now is crazy, this is why laws have to be enforced and we can not let them go unenforced as somebody will take advantage of them. I was told that Mexico has a very strict immigration law, if the visitors ask to stay there, Mexico refuses and take them back across the southern border. One side note, if they do not ask for asylum and state that they will keep moving until they get to the US border, they are allowed to pass through.
