Bill the bastard for his education

I wonder how he got that far? Had he graduated...it was not made clear? You would think his fellow cadets would have known and passed it on to their superiors.
Polls indicate that about half of people his age are buying socalism as a preferred ideology. I am surprised it is a grounds for terminating an officer these days, but a policy I agree with none-the-less.

I wonder too which politician nominated this mook and what that pol knew prior to his nomination.

They don't receive their commission until they graduate--the fact that he was a 2nd Lt confirms his graduation.

He has been out of the Point for about a year. They just finished with the formalities. Discharged for conduct unbecoming an officer.

Anybody want to bet the usual suspects will raise a stink that being a Communist should not be grounds for dismissal from the armed forces. That is discrimination, and as we know, discrimination of any kind is the new third rail of politics and civility.

What's really sad is your probably right. He will probably end up with a large chunk of cash that will ease the harassment he had to endure.

While this is news now, it's old news. Last year it went viral in military groups and the fallout of his lying and his actions began. From what I understand he ended up doing desk duty as he was under investigation from almost the time he reported in to Ft Drum.

For a officer to receive such a discharge, he had to have been spanked hard...officers do not receive such discharges without UCMJ action. It can also take away this persons rights to own firearms, receive VA benefits, use the GI bill and even keep him from getting disability....

Officers are dismissed and not discharged....thus the wording is enough to leave one hanging to the actual type of discharge and wording & codes on it.

One of six children growing up in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Rapone said he applied to West Point, which is tuition-free, because he couldn’t afford college. He was nominated out of high school by then-U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire in 2010.

“He was an honors student, an athlete, a model citizen who volunteered in the community,” recalled Altmire, a Democrat. “During the interview, he expressed patriotism and looked just like a top-notch candidate. There were no red flags of any kind.”

But he wasn’t accepted to West Point, so Rapone enlisted in the Army. He was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 and was assigned as an assistant machine gunner in Khost Province.

“We were bullies in one of the poorest countries on Earth,” Rapone said. “We have one of the most technologically advanced militaries of all time and all we were doing is brutalizing and invading and terrorizing a population that had nothing to do with what the United States claimed was a threat.”

Toward the end of his deployment, he learned West Point fulfills a certain quota of enlisted soldiers every year. Despite his growing disillusionment about the military, he applied and got in.

“I was still idealistic,” he said.” I figured maybe I could change things from inside.”

In addition to classic socialist theorists such as Ka Marx, Rapone says he found inspiration in the writings of Stan Goff, a retired Special Forces master sergeant who became a socialist anti-war activist.

Even while still a cadet, Rapone’s online postings alarmed a West Point history professor, who wrote Rapone up, saying his online postings were “red flags that cannot be ignored.” Rapone was disciplined but still allowed to graduate.

Greg Rinckey, an attorney specializing in military law, said it’s rare for an officer out of West Point to receive an other-than-honorable discharge. He added that it’s possible the military academy could seek repayment of the cost of Rapone’s education because he didn’t serve the full five-year service obligation required upon graduation.

“I knew there could be repercussions,” said Rapone, who is scheduled to speak at a socialism conference in Chicago next month. “Of course my military career is dead in the water. On the other hand, many people reached out and showed me support. There are a lot of veterans both active duty and not that feel like I do.”

And except for the famous; "You have to vote if you want to change things" there's nothing we can do. Voting doesn't work, catching them red handed doesn't work. One term in congress and they are set for life, we need to change that, one and done and no more benefits for life get a damn job!! If your caught cheating you go to jail, same rights as everybody else, period! Send pictures of yourself in panties your fired. Harass a man or woman and your out with charges being filed. Scum bag bastards!!They are destroying my country and there's not a damn thing I can do about it, it actually pisses me off quite often, to the point that I need to quit reading their lies.

I agree Mike, if we do not hold them accountable, no matter what side they are on, we get this kind of crap. The MSM and the liberal schools are the ones screwing up our Country.
