Naw, I am not too worried about either of those fancy words. Obviously the elected officials, scholars I might add. who claim to know these things, either do not or the principle is flawed. Your choice. I'm done.

    Elected officials are scholars?

Kind of like Michelle Bachmann, who said ""What I love about New Hampshire and what we have in common is our extreme love of liberty...You're the state where the shot heard round the world in Lexington and Concord."

Or Sarah Palin, who said that Paul Revere's ride was to warn the British.

Or Donald Trump, who complains about all the negative covfefe.

    Those scholars? LOL!!

but a company wants to make X amount of dollars as a bottom line, so they raise prices to make that bottom line.
They can't raise the price beyond what the market will bear. If Hasbro sells a toy for a dollar Mattel can't sell the same toy for two dollars because they want to make more money. You can't sell a jar of peanut butter for ten dollars simply because you want to make more money, people won't buy it. Business has never worked like that nor will it ever. I don't know a lot about it but business's go out of business all the time because they can't make a product cheap enough to sell it at a profit. If the tariff on peanuts goes sky high it will never hurt me, I'll eat baloney before I pay over the top for peanut butter. Same goes for any other product, I just won't or won't be able to buy it if it goes to high.

Whole different ballgame there. The price has to be around what people will still pay no doubt, but these guys also know that their Country has to be able to survive the initial blasting. China knows they have been screwing the world with their manipulation of their currency and selling items that the ideas and blueprints for those have been stolen from other Countries who invested a lot of time and money in development of those.

China has put many businesses in America either out of business or severely hurt them because they have no unions to deal with, or any EPA regulations to follow. They can pay their workers almost nothing and then force them to work long hours under dangerous conditions, where American companies can not do that. Charge much lower prices for an idea that they stole, use cheap labor to make the product, force the workers to work long hours under unsafe conditions and then refuse to allow other Country's to sell their products in their homeland for cheaper prices and you think that is fair?

We can and will survive with what you just said, instead of expensive peanut butter we will switch to baloney. All of this hooey and scary end of the world talk is nothing but chicken little nonsense. We as Americans have survived worse things than that, we have overcome far longer odds than paying a few more cents for a product that we have to use. The biggest hit will be to China, who needs to sell their product much worse than we need to buy it. We can buy the product someplace else or make it ourselves or decide to pay a little bit more, it is up to us. This will make China a little more respectful of the other kids in the playground.
