Making Sense About The Census Question On Citizenship Status

Why wouldn’t we want to know how many citizens we have and where they are and how many non-citizens and where they’re are?

Keep in mind that in the 2000 Census formulated by the Clinton Administration these questions were asked in the long-form census questionnaire received by one in six households without any fanfare or negative reprocutions —

    1. Is this person a CITIZEN of the United States?

    2. When did this person come to live in the United States?

    3. Did this person live in this house or apartment 5 years ago (on April 1, 1995)?

What happened in the intervening 18 years to make this subject taboo and “unconstitutional” for Liberals?

Because they need the illegal voters to stay in office.

It is just like going through the Border Patrol checkpoints on the highways on major traffic routes coming from the border. You drive up and the person asked if you are American citizens, you answer yes and they tell you to have a good day and to go ahead. Real simple right? The liberals seem to think it is like strapping them to a yardarm and flailing them with a bullwhip.

If you are not proud to be here, go home. I can guarantee no officer will try to prevent you from leaving, you may be dragging a sobbing Nancy Pelosi but you are free to go.

By law, the Census Bureau cannot share your answers with the
IRS, FBI, Welfare, Immigration-or any other government
agency. No court of law, not even the President of the United
States, can find out your answers. And the same law that keeps
your answers out of the hands of these agencies, prevents the
Census Bureau from selling or giving away your address to
people who want to send you mail.

1980: Armed with a search warrant authorizing them to seize census
documents, four FBI agents enter the Census Bureau's Colorado Springs
office. No confidential information is ever released because a census worker
holds off the agents until her superiors resolve the issue with the FBI.
Census is ordered every 10 years by the Constitution.

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which
may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be
determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to
Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other
Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting
of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in
such Manner as they shall by Law direct
So the census determines the number of Representatives in the House.

It is also used to determine other things such as apportionment of federal resources based on population.

Asking whether a counted person is a citizen has no bearing on the intent and purpose of the census other than the exclusion of Indians and only counting women, slaves, and all non-land owning folks as two-fifths of a person.

There will be attempts by some to seize the information provided for law enforcement purposes such as ICE deportations but I would imagine the Census folks will stand them off. Having a standoff with federal officials today will probably involve the deaths of census officials.
