Looking For A Good SciFi Book

I am currently looking for a SciFi book on the level of Niven's Ringworld, that IMHO is a must read classic. The rest of his Ringworld series was OK but couldn't compare to the first.

I have been a SciFi fan for 7 decades and have read just about everything written.

The latest series that I really enjoyed was Dennis E Taylor's Bobiverse trilogy.

I have 10 or 12 different sci-fi books on my Kindle right now but they are all a bit weak.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry, I'm into horror right now, so I have a copy of Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House to give me a good scare right before bedtime.

I could not get into that book. All the interesting parts were teased on the news.

Very little plot line and the characters were unbelievable.

I read a lot of sci-fi growing up in the 50’s - 60’s, but not much lately. My favorites back then were A.E. Van Vogt and Alfred Bester...and a lot of classic era sci-fi. Modern sci-fi, not so much.

Recently, I have been watching an excellent video series you can find on Amazon Prime — The Expanse, which takes place in the solar system chiefly in the asteroid belt and has a cogent methology of Earthers, Martian settlers and “Belters” in conflict. I am finishing the third season of the series now and it keeps getting better and better.

The series is based on a series of books by the same name, which those who have read it say is even better than the video...as usual.

I did read several books a couple of years ago in Jack Campbell’s The Lost Fleet series, which is a nice series of sci-fi books, if you like the mindless sci-fi space opera type.

    Thank you, sir.

I have sent the first 7 books to my Kindle and will begin Leviathan Wakes tonight.

I do watch movies on Amazon Prime and on Netflix as well as whatever I find on Terrarium but always enjoy reading especially after the extended time I was forced to listen to audiobooks.

I read Dauntless, and Fearless but lost interest for some reason in the middle of Courageous.

I do still have the entire series in my Calibre Library and may try again to get back into that series.
