    McCabe should be fired and lose pension

    Seems like all of the hoopla over Flynn, now McCabe is starting to read the writting on the wall. He should be fired today and lose his pension. He leaked confidential conversations and info and he should be brought up on charges and jailed. Next should be Comey for the same and probably more including Obstruction. Lynch should be worried as well. We will see if Sessions has a set.

    The corruption at the highest law enforcement center in the Country is disgusting.

    Both. When your job is to enforce the law, and do it better than the rest of them because you work for the best of the best, you do not get a pass. The FBI is supposed to hold everybody feet to the fire and make sure the case is solved by dotting all of the I's and crossing all of the T's. They do not get to make mistakes like Barney Fife and Sheriff Andy. They especially do not get to intentionally cover up or commit crimes of their own, to let someone else off of the hook.

    Yep he lied, isn't that what they nailed Flynn for, the only thing I might add? Now we need to prosecute him and the other merry morons who have colluded and done all of the corrupt nonsense we have had to endure for the last year and a half.

    I don't want to see him lose his pension but I would like to see him prosecuted for lying to the FBI just like Michael Flynn. If of course that's what happened and if not lying to the FBI or maybe Congress or maybe some other internal governmental organization to which it is illegal to lie to

    Losing his pension would serve as a deterrent to others that are doing the corrupt things they have been doing. There have to be consequences for these politicians who overstep the laws they are supposed to be standing up for. Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.

    I hope Sessions has better evidence than I have seen of McCabe’s malfeasance. While I highly suspect his coordination and help with those actions by Strzok & Page based on clear evidence, I have not seen the same directly upon McCabe. We do not want further politization of the FBI.

    He lied to investigators and under oath. He should have been fired long ago. I think they do have a lot more that we are not hearing about, but they are letting him off easy with a firing, instead of some charges and a jail cell for everything else we haven't heard about yet. If there are any more like Strzok, Page, McCabe, Comey and their ilk, they need a lot more scrutiny, they are the top dogs in law enforcement in the nation. They have to be the best of the best with no excuses given or taken. What he did was like a common criminal yes, but because of the position in the service they hold, it is a far worse situation because of that. They knew exactly how bad they were breaking the rules, no excuses, hang em by their toenails.

    He should be treated as recommended by those that investigated the matter. They recommended firing him, not wiping out his pension.

    Under FERS rules, he gets two penalties with respect to his pension if he is fired for cause. He loses the automatic multiplier he gets at 20 years, available to those in law enforcement occupations in federal government (1.1 I think it is) and he now has to wait until age 57 to start collecting, at which point he gets a pension based on 20 years of service (the number of years he has in now). This will cost him about 45K a year until age 57, and about 10K a year after that. If he lives to age 80, he will lose about 500K in retirement pay.

    He also does not carry his eligibility for health insurance into retirement. Federal retirees get to piggy back onto the contract that active federal workers can get, which is about 1/3 the cost of the open market. That works out to be about 6K a year, assuming no special medical issues. That will cost him until age 80 about 180K.

    And he gets to know that no one will remember the years of service he actually performed and instead, will remember only how he left.

    That's enough punishment to deter the next one who decides not to be forthcoming in an investigation. We don't need to destroy him completely.

    He deserves to be fired, his protestations to the contrary notwithstanding. He is trying to minimize what he did by deflection about Trump's war with the FBI. Trump's actions are irrelevant to McCabe's actions, though. His own agency's internal review recommended firing. Hard to spin that one.

    And since I'm nowhere without a relevant quote, here's one about mercy and its relationship to justice.

    In the Merchant of Venice, Antonio promises Shylock a pound of flesh in return for a loan. Antonio defaults and Shylock refuses anything but the pound of flesh promised, even when Bassanio offers to repay twice the amount owed. By rights, Shylock is due his pound of flesh. Portia (Antonio's love interest, disguised as a doctor of law), says that mercy should always be a part of justice:

    The quality of mercy is not strained.
    It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
    Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
    It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
    'Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
    The thronèd monarch better than his crown.
    His scepter shows the force of temporal power,
    The attribute to awe and majesty
    Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
    But mercy is above this sceptered sway.
    It is enthronèd in the hearts of kings;
    It is an attribute to God Himself;
    And earthly power doth then show likest God's
    When mercy seasons justice. Therefore, Jew,
    Though justice be thy plea, consider this:
    That in the course of justice none of us
    Should see salvation. We do pray for mercy,
    And that same prayer doth teach us all to render
    The deeds of mercy. I have spoke thus much
    To mitigate the justice of thy plea,
    Which, if thou follow, this strict court of Venice
    Must needs give sentence 'gainst the merchant
    there.
    To me, the most important part of that is the recognition that if we all got what we deserved, none of us should ever see salvation. We do pray for mercy and by that prayer, we obligate ourselves to render mercy to others.

    Call me a softy, but I think mercy is just as important as justice. Justice without mercy is merely retribution.

    If that makes you a softy then there are two of us

    To me this is simply vindictive---not to mention a way for the AG to keep his job for a little longer

    Dave you haven't been soft on the part about your hatred for Trump though have you? McCabe made his bed, chose his poison and now needs to take a deep drink and pay the fiddler. He was at the top of the food chain in law enforcement, he gets no quarter with me. He knew above everybody else the consequences of the snake he was playing with.

    Mueller did not seem to mind that he has destroyed Flynn's life for basically the same cause, with the exception of batting for the other side.

    It appears there are several Congressmen wanting to hire Andrew McCabe to work in their offices to allow him to qualify for his retirement benefits.

    He would only have to work a day to be eligible.
