    Oakland Coffee shop will not serve police

    But I bet you $100 when they get robbed they will call 911 and expect the cops to come help them

    A coffee shop in Oakland is refusing to serve law enforcement officers for the "physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves," according to the shop's social media.

    Hasta Muerte Coffee, an employee-owned co-op, will not serve officers in uniform and turned away an officer a few weeks ago, as reported by NBC Bay Area.

    The sergeant who was turned away from the shop a few weeks ago said he was surprised by employees refusing to serve him, but walked out without any incident or any coffee.

    And as soon as something happens the police better be there QUICK!! I do hope they are all miles away stuck in traffic but then that probably wouldn't be good enough either.
    Lets see some gays sued a bakery and won because they couldn't get served.....nah never mind the cops don't have any rights.

    Most places want police officers to frequent their establishment and will usually give discounts or even free stuff to try to attract them.

    When I was delivering newspapers in the Florida Panhandle all the deputy sheriffs watched out for me to come by and give them the free copy of the Northwest Florida Daily News http://www.nwfdailynews.com/. For some reason, the newspaper, angered at the sheriff I guess, ordered us to stop this practice and stopped giving us extra "service copy" newspapers. I had to purchase several copies from the local convenience store every night to continue to pass out these favors to the deputies whose long graveyard shifts were so tiring and boring.

    I was thinking the exact same thing, sue their butts and put them out of business. You are probably right though, if the cop was white and Conservative, he has no rights.

    They are just following the Pig Trail carved and ran by the mayor. It's really sad to see things go this far

    actually my friends that work at OPD say that things have gotten much better for them with Shaff as Mayor than with the prior disaster Jean Quan. Shaff for the most part leaves the policing to the chief vs Quan who would not let them deal with the occupy rioters

    Well that's a very good to have a mayor that backs up the local troops. That always comes in handy. I just think what she did was entirely misplaced
