Jerry Brown’s high-speed rail line from San Fran to LA (eventually Sacramento to San Diego) is a microcosm of California official thinking. I noticed in an article this week that cost projections have gone from the original $30B in 2008 to between $77.3B-$98.1B with completion somewhere in the 2030’s. They told the voters that the feds (you & me) would pick up 2/3 of the costs. Surprise, that’s now a big “no.” But construction goes on. Any bets that last guess will be changed upward...radically upward in the California way?
