I read an article a couple of days ago about a glitch some engineer discovered in the computer codes which translated the information being registered by telescopes into analog photos. It said the Hubble suffered from this defect as well as probably most of the hundred or so other telescopes in orbit. I had no idea there were more than a few telescopes in orbit. Maybe a lot of them are spy sats looking down rather than out. Never thought of it before.

I also saw an article yesterday that said the evil Russians have developed a new strong laser flown high in one of their planes designed to take out our satellites. I wondered at the time if we (and others) have sats up which are stealth by design that cannot be detected by sight or radar, therefore not easy to take out. I’ll bet there are.

I'm sure I have told this story before---but here it is again

I was flying from Moscow to Norida Japan overnight. We were at about 42,000 ft over Siberia and I was sitting by the window on the left side of the plane when what to my wondering eyes did appear---but the ISS---seemingly very close

Because of the lack of atmosphere between us the view was crystal clear. Because of the parallel paths and speeds the observation time was extended by many minutes. It was without a doubt the most memorable mid-flight event I have ever experienced and the memory of it will never leave me.

So---you might have to hear this again---and again

When was this flying out of Moscow Mr. Grubb and who was you employer at the time of your....flight? Who exactly did you talk to while there and was the name Trump ever brought up. Let me make it easy on you Mr. Grubb was the name Trump or Hillary brought up more than once, what, kind sir did you talk about?

I just noticed my screw up at the end and I have no idea what the hell I was trying to say now. I'll fake it.

Zoom in on the planes on the apron.

Now back out and follow the runway going from southeast to north west.

Just a very short distance from the end of the runway to the north west is my house.

This is just one of the commercial telescopes in orbit. The military ones have a lot higher resolution.
