Dear David,
February 25th marks the six-month anniversary of Hurricane Harvey’s initial landfall in Rockport. Hurricane Harvey was an unprecedented natural disaster that resulted in over $150 billion of damage across the state of Texas. The Rebuild Texas Fund was launched less than a week later with a bold goal of raising $100 million in private capital to help hurting communities and families. Today, thanks to generous donors like you, the Rebuild Texas Fund is $93.1 million strong and has awarded nearly $15 million to 50 projects. The team has clocked almost 15,000 miles as we travel to and immerse ourselves in all affected regions along the Gulf Coast.
Today, we are pleased to share our progress report with more details about how your contribution is supporting families, communities, and businesses. Many challenges lie ahead as communities continue on the path to recovery but these last six months on the ground have taught us one fundamental lesson: we’re in it together. Our donors, government partners, grantee organizations, volunteers, and neighbors in need have come together to make headway – home by home, classroom by classroom, business by business.
