    I feel mental anguish

Once again I open myself up to ridicule and flames by asking a question.

With all of the furor, weeping [ because it makes me feel bad ] and rioting over many statues forcing them to be removed. Just how long are we going to tolerate the existence of [ sorry Tex ] the Alamo. After all, it is a reminder that Mexico [ read Spanish peoples ] were forced to cede portions of their land to the interlopers in the North. [ Those nasty Americans ] . Just the thought of it standing there makes me want to weep and I will need a quiet place and someone to share my angst with.

Remove this shrine to the advancement of liberty at once.

As a direct descendant of one of Stephen F. Austin's "Original 300" on one side and a Texas revolutionary soldier at San Jacinto on the other side of my lineage, I should be ashamed. [/s]

Actually that land was bought and paid for. Just like today, the Mexicans of Mexico did not believe the deal was right, the Mexicans that were here were okay with it.

Besides, the Alamo was a church, Fred will go nuts with the separation of church and State lecture he loves to give. The building was already there, used as a church, and the American rebels (I would say Texans, but there was a mix of others) found that it was a better fort than any of the other buildings.

If the BLM and Antifa thugs decide they are going to bring that building down, they will find out the rally cry of "Remember the Alamo" will ring true again, and we will not go down as easy as the candy asses in the other liberal bastions.

I don't care one way or the other about the place, Tx. Too many myths about the place.

But that people died for some unknown cause at the time, since Independence wasn't declared until later after it fell. It's not a high priority for me to keep as a monument. Some people will also say the reno's made after the place was left by Santa Ana were not in the original shape of the building, so the worship symbol is really another myth. Like I said before the site maybe history the rest is fantasy.

Since this will go against anything Tx believes in, who cares.

Some repairs were made to fix damage done to it during some battles and to fix the effects nature has had on it.

Billy you just post stuff and then sometimes just junk, too bad this time it's just junk. Do some research on the myths ot the Alamo and then come back with a better answer. Thank you.

    Fred,
Can you tell us why Santa Anna was at the Alamo? Run look it up real quick so you can appear smart.

What I would like to start is the sea is rising, some say here and there, but don't understand water is level and maybe here in Crescent City at the harbor maybe 1/10 inch over the last 100 years, so is water level?

It's taking Fred a long time to answer. Hopefully he is still reading about it and will finally know something about what the Alamo was all about. By the way Fred. I live in Anahuac, Tx. What was Anahuac all about? Finding about Anahuac will help explain the Alamo.

I said before that we stole this land fair and square, and we ain't giving it back neither. Texas is a great example. It also serves to illustrate what can happen if you let the riff-raff in. The Mexicans invited or looked the other way letting American settlers and adventurers into their territory, and see what happened? First thing you know, you and yours are out and the riff-raff is runnin' the show. I read yesterday that even Chicago is now 30% Hispanic and the blacks are moving out. See how it works, they are doubling back on us, out-breeding us all the way, when they aren't jumping the border. Why here in San Antonio you can't hardly find decent Tex-Mex any more, it's all Mex-Mex. It's a caution I tell you!
