Yeah, Ben, I still have it! Thanks again everyone!

In my opinion, there is no substitute for a 12 gauge pump! Sure, you could go with a 10 gauge, or larger, but I wouldn't want to try to hang on to one with a pistol grip and only 26" long.

The absolute best firearm in close combat, such as almost any home defense scenario...

But try telling that to the couple who comes in saying, "I can handle a big gun because I once shot a .45 in the Army, but we want a little lightweight .357 Magnum so my wife can handle it OK...We'll keep it in the nightstand, but it'll be safe from the kids because we'll keep the ammo separate..."

Back when I actually drove a patrol car (yeah, a model A) my favorite weapon was my Remington 870 with rifle sights. I could put a slug in the "X" ring at 50 yards every time. Loaded with a mix of 00 buck and slugs it was just plain comforting to have in your hands when the going might get rough.

Same one we had back in my PD days except we had to use #1 buck.

Me thinks I now know who Mr Honda is. It's really good to have you back. No one was monitoring me while you were gone and I felt terribly abandoned and unsure.

When I was a teenager my buddy sawed off the stock of a single shot .410 shotgun and cut off the barrel to legal length. He fashioned the grip to look almost identical to the one picture here. When I shot it the recoil caused it to slide back in my hand until the breech latch sliced open the web between my thumb and forefinger. A 12 gauge would be much more prone to do that, but I held the .410 in one hand like a pistol, which I doubt anyone would do with this weapon.

That reminds me, I need to look at the next gun show for a matte finished magazine extension for my 18" rifle-sighted, matte-finished, walnut-stocked 870...And maybe a buttstock with pistol grip, I like it better than the shortened pistol grip because I can one-hand it if necessary by tucking the buttstock under my elbow......Ben

Not anymore if you plan on driving. The Canadians would have an attitude if they saw that
