It is illegal if done for other than legitimate security reasons. Nunes reported that the "unmasking" was of data gathering having nothing to do with Russians, which were the ostensible reasons being given for the unmasking. New reporting by my favorite reporter indicate the spying on American citizens in the Trump camp far exceeded anything reasonably associated with subversive foreign conspiracies —

Perhaps the best indication of the political nature of what Rice was doing was the reaction of D'rat attack dog, Adam Schiff, after he saw the secret documents to which Nunes was referring. After Adam Schiff viewed Nunes' reveal on Intell's secret computers he suddenly is hardly heard from again. How odd for the otherwise perpetual screaming mimi of the D'rats. Just what did he find? Must have been really bad and embarrassing to turn him into a pussycat that way. We will likely never see documents on individuals else the original intent of which the criticism of Rice was directed would take place publicly, however the reaction, or more specifically, non-reaction, of Schiff is a great verification of Nunes' reporting on the contents in my view.

The FBI obtained a secret court order last summer to monitor the communications of an adviser to presidential candidate Donald Trump, part of an investigation into possible links between Russia and the campaign, law enforcement and other U.S. officials said.

The FBI and the Justice Department obtained the warrant targeting Carter Page’s communications after convincing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that there was probable cause to believe Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power, in this case Russia, according to the officials.

This is the clearest evidence so far that the FBI had reason to believe during the 2016 presidential campaign that a Trump campaign adviser was in touch with Russian agents. Such contacts are now at the center of an investigation into whether the campaign coordinated with the Russian government to swing the election in Trump’s favor.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers who reviewed the same intelligence documents as House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) say they have not yet seen evidence to support the allegation that the Obama administration collected information on Trump transition associates, according to a Tuesday CNN report.

Their assessment of these documents indicates doubt about what Nunes interpreted as possible evidence that Obama officials incidentally collected intelligence on Trump transition officials during a broader intelligence probe, as well as President Trump's accusation that former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice improperly requested the "unmasking" of Trump transition associates in intel reports.

Several House and Senate intelligence committee members and their respective aides examined intelligence reports last week at the NSA headquarters, according to CNN.

A congressional intelligence official told CNN that Rice’s requests, particularly for her high-level advising role, appeared "normal and appropriate.”

You do realize your two posts contradict your position and confirm Trump's don't you?

If you can believe the WaPo quote (and what self-respecting Democrat would not believe their official Party organ?), then this "evidence" shows the Administration was surveilling Trump people for months upon months, yet have apparently found zip, nada, nothing, and at the same time D'rats on the House Intelligence Committee either lied about it or are too incompetent to know. And we haven't even gotten to the actions of the Obama Administration village idiot, Susan Rice, yet.

It appears that both r and d members of the intelligence committee are stating that Rice's requests were normal for the position. Let me know when you have any facts that prove it was politically motivated and or had anything to do with leaking.

Far as the fbi investigation, 6 months is like 2 minutes their time. They work very slowly and since there is no confirmation they are done, I'll wait to see if anything turns up.

And it seems that today the relations with Russia are at an all time low, funny how the Russia helped Trump win did that. I guess now the blabber mouths touting their "friendly help" is now nothing but a bunch of BS....like many said it was from the very beginning. Too bad all the rest of this hooey hasnt stopped as well.

Actually I feel better when the Repubs are in charge for one reason, the media whores will search high and low to find out every snippet of wrong that they possibly can. When the stupid liberals are in charge the same media sits around with it's head up it's arse kissing the liberals butt. At least we can expect them to do their damn jobs, of course when you have them chasing ghosts. like this whole stupid Russia fiasco, they fail to do even that.

How dumb does AMerica have to be before they call these whores out for what they are? They are nothing but shrills for the liberal left in America and nothing more. Plain and simple, it is quite an accomplishment for any Repub to get into office, because the MSM will cover up the bad for the left and persecute any ghost that can be found for the right. That moron Obama and his merry band of idiots has not only wrecked the US, but has caused major problems worldwide by being a pussy.

The stupid iberals whined and moaned that Trump was going to take money from meals on wheels, but did those same jackasses mention a word when Obama gave our mortal enemy Iran....160 BILLION in cash?? Hell no, they were too busy kissing his ass. STupid morons.

We suffer from the same constraints on these intelligence issues — the real facts are hidden from us and we have only to sift amongst the droppings for our conclusions. The House Select Committee On Intelligence has announced it will "investigate" the unmasking issue further. Perhaps something will come of it, but I'm not holding my breath.

Be careful my friend----of those droppings of which you speak---if they come from the Administration they probably originated from the back end of a bull

One of the "droppings" is press confirmation (whatever that's worth these days) that a FICA warrant was issued upon FBI request for Carter Page surveillance apparently based on some belief he was playing footsy on an oil investment with the Russians a decade ago. Trouble is that he had almost nothing to do with Trump...never even met the man...was an obscure volunteer...but the warrant could let them go far afield. Hanky panky afoot? Maybe we will see.

The latest "smoke" going a long way to accusing Trump associates of colluding with Russian agents. The report, if believed, confirms that the British intelligence agency GCHQ was instrumental in contacting and providing intel that Trump people were in contact starting in late 2015 just like Andrew Napolitan reported on Fox News and was reprimanded and ridiculed for doing so despite the vehement denial of GCHQ in the past. Despite the warnings the FBI did not initially take it seriously according to this news story although there are many reports to the contrary of FISA requests. This is the Guardian after all.

Oddly, the chief American contact mention in the story, John Brennan, has testified he knows of no evidence of the allegations forming the basis of the piece. Something hinky here.

That same analogy can be used for most of the media circus these days, especially the American media. Those idiots could not tell the whole truth if it was gift wrapped and delivered to them with a bow on it. Trouble is the liberal left believe all of the garbage that these fools spew. Journalism and reporters in general have turned the free press into the supermarket tabloids.

Maybe that is the plan, get the people so divided with BS that they no longer believe anything, it will be so much easier to tell them what to think when we are all nothing but lemmings.
