    Member update...

Our friend and valued member, Mike Grist, has asked me to comment on his recent noticeable absence...Mike has been hospitalized for some time with a problem I would characterize as serious...It has not allowed him to be here for any length of time, but he assures me he is regaining his health, and looks forward to getting out of a hospital bed...The only communication device he has is his phone which is tough to use as a computer...

I won't go any further into details, but I hope other members join me in looking forward to his return to good health......Ben

To be perfectly honest, since he seems to follow me around with some kind of childish vendetta I have enjoyed the discussion without his continual interruptions and insults.
I don't wish him ill but can't say I will welcome him back.
While I ignore him and his comments when he is here it is easier to do that when he isn't here.

Mike reports he's expected to stay in the hospital for another 20 days as of yesterday if all tests show good news...

Nurses report they won't enter the room of "Patient Hands" without an escort...They have also put in for combat pay...

"Patient Hands" reports that two nurses at a time is fine with him......Ben

Further nurse abuse will be met by locking the TV monitor onto CNN.

Another valued member, Utah Bill, was unlucky enough to lose his road bike under a truck on the highway earlier this year...He reports the bike was a total loss after finally getting its performance up to the standards he expects...Bill was luckier than the bike having been on it as it passed under the truck...

He says he spent two months in the hospital, and had to learn how to walk all over again...He is ambulatory now in Las Vegas for the remainder of the year, and sends season's greetings to all......Ben

Certainly is good to hear he is on the mend!

My bike has been parked in the back of a shed for years, ever since a close friend all but bought the farm when a van made a left turn right in front of him.

It would be great if Bill would stop in once and awhile as he is on the mend---in-lieu of that please give him my regards and well wishes.

Having had my own issues with cycle mayhem, my sympathies go out to Bill. If you've ridden much you have an ugly story connected with it.

pass on my best wishes to both of them. I gave up motorcycles in the mid 70s after a crash almost cost me my leg and I spent 9 days in ICU.
