    Painless...

I got my notification in the mail today of my Texas CHL renewal expiring in January...Five minutes later on the Texas.gov site and I was done...They gave me a discount because I'm old, and accepted my Discover card so I get a little cash back...

They said they'd reuse my pic and fingerprints...Now if the DL renewal is only that easy......Ben

It's a lot easier now than when I first got mine in '96...The initial class is four hours, down from 10...Renewals are by internet now...

It's a lot easier to get it now, than to wish at some point later you had done it......Ben

Im still tossing it around. A guy at my daughters church gives the class and he knocks off a few bucks for members. If I went to a Baptist church the ceiling would cave in, I had better pay full price

Still rubs me raw to have to buy a permit from the government to have a Right I was born with.

In the good news department, I got my new license in the mail today valid until 2022...That's three months before the old one expires...Apparently good eyesight is less important for firing a 230 grain bullet than it is for driving a 7,000 pound truck.........Ben

I let mine lapse 10 years ago when the young grandkids were around and I didn't want my guns available anyway.
Can I simply renew now, or do I have to recertify?

Recertify just as if you never had a license...The good part is that the class has been reduced from 10 hours to 4 including range time......Ben
