Feds Doing Backflips Over Teen Mounting Working Pistol On Drone

The feds subpoenaed the boy and his father after video was posted showing the gun firing from the hovering drone and the boy and his father stiffed the feds. They later responded with a video of the drone equipped with a working flame thrower barbequing a hunk of meat.

Dad says it is just a science project!

Does the law require the drone to have a license to carry a firearm? Or just the operator?...Or neither?...

Aimed fire is tough enough when the shooter is holding the gun in his hand; I imagine it's exponentially more difficult from an airborne platform subject to wind gusts and updrafts...The locals could probably make a case for reckless endangerment or even deadly conduct...

Or maybe the yankees have laws governing outright stupidity......Ben

Extrapolating into the future of drones in the hands of terrorists is alarming. I have been waiting for this stuff for a time. Why blow yourself up, when you can strap your bomb on a drone, fly it into a stadium full of people, and deliver your misery from a distance while watching on video? Hell, you probably wouldn't even have to load it with explosives, just the sight of one over a game or concert would probably send the crowd into a deadly stampede enough for the Jihadis' goals.

It looks like the Dallas police took your suggestion to heart, Joe...

It occurred to me when I heard that account how prescient I am, but how backward the Dallas PD is. The thought of that scumbag watching his doom slooowly walking toward him then his guts splattered all over the garage was a bit - what is the word here - gratifying, welcome, acceptable, wanted, right..."right," yeah, right is the word. No trial, no pontificating for the eager press, no nothing, just "boom, m*****f****r, you're dog meat. Hey, Sargent, get the spatula. We need samples."

Next time look for a drone or two. Cheaper, faster...

Imagine a score or more of drones rigged with C4, or Tovex, as well as RDX and PETN blends flown in mass into the Presidential inauguration ... a scenario with no easy solutions for security experts to counter...

The protagonists of the original post, the Haughwout's, have reached federal court as the FAA has petitioned the court to seek approval for ordering the father & son to submit to a grilling under subpoena concerning their drones. The duo agrued that the FAA does not have legal authority over drones. The federal judge issued a ruling that the FAA has at least enough authority to investigate under subpoena power, but reserved the right to rule on whether it has further authority to regulate drones as such —

Is there any doubt what-so-ever that courts will invest power in a federal agancy to approve any damned thing they desire on the rest of us at the end of the day?

Be glad there are drone defenders that work. Makes this country great or what? The right to have a drone defense.

12 gauge shotgun will take down a drone, just like shooting any game bird. On a more serious note, I would think that the govt has scramblers that would kill any signal that the drone operator would have over his craft. If the operator can not control it, it can not go where it is supposed to go.

Can you just fire random shots into the air Tx? In some states it's illegal.

I've been hit several times with falling bird shot. It does not hurt in any state in the Union.
