Autocars were often the orphan children of ugly trucks...Some of these are so ugly only a mothertrucker could love them...

The British take a back seat to no one in any discussion of ugly vehicles, but they exceed in ugly truck design...Their heavy haul industry grew on the backs of de-militarized Scammell army transports after WWII, and blossomed with Leyland and European competitors such as DAF and MAN entering the market...Among my favorites are the ERF trucks, especially the twin-steers...

Nicolas Tractomas actually does hold the Guinness record for world's largest road tractor, but it's for the 2005 model pictured below......Ben

Driving that tractor on our highways would get the driver quite a surprise at about 50% of the overpasses he came to, and seeing as how the driver's head is at the very top of the cab, the surprise would be brutal and of short duration, I suspect.

I'm pretty sure the driver wouldn't let it happen more than once...I think trucks like that operate mostly in Australia and South Africa......Ben

When ugly trucks get together, they make the Euclid sit in a corner by itself...This one is a 1963 model 5LLD, powered by two side-by-side Detroit 6-110 inline diesels...Each engine has its own transmission, cooling system and drive axle, but only one operator holding the reins on over 600 really slow horses...The video explains more......Ben
