    Chickens in eggshells!

I have a friend who is known for beautiful eggshell mosaics and she has very graciously explained the process to us over the years. I never thought I would try it but once I painted a chicken scene, all I could think was EGGSHELLS lol

just the chickens. I did the painting on an old chunk of black walnut and used the existing grain with a thin wash of paint to depict the walls and nesting shelf etc.

So you save and clean the shells and then paint them in all the colors you need, coat them in glue and let it dry. That way you can use nail scissors to cut shapes out and as you glue them down you tap them with a toothpic to break them so they lay flat.

I never in a million years thought I would try it... but it was fun
