    I think he's lying...

    LINK...
An Arizona sheriff running for Congress as a Republican denied accusations Saturday that he had threatened to deport an alleged ex-lover, a Mexican national. In the process, he also resigned from a volunteer position with Mitt Romney's Arizona campaign and came out as gay.
If he lied about being queer to protect his burgeoning political career, he'll lie about his boyfriend for the same reason...As usual, the coverup stinks worse than the original allegations......Ben

It's official ... this ****ing faggot was bunging an illegal Mexican for years until they had a tissy-fit and Jose squealed to the press. Now Sheriff Sissy-Boy admits he is queer and says he had no authority to report his Mexican pants-partner to the immigration dudes.

I don't really care about his choice of men over women for sex, what I care about is his cowardice in covering up his choice all this time...He doesn't have the courage needed for American leadership......Ben

I agree, the gay part is no big deal. The coverup part as well as the retaliation problem is. The man is not what we need to be running anything.

Where does it state the guy was illegal?

Read it without being so single minded and you will see he was referred to as a "Mexican National"

If he was threatened with deportation, wouldn't that indicate illegal status?...I'm not sure......Ben

People here legally can be deported if they break the law.

I know that...Assuming he came to this country in accordance with all laws, then he agreed to obey all US laws during his stay...If at some point he ran afoul of the law, was accused and adjudicated guilty, wouldn't that make him an illegal alien since he would have violated his agreement?...

I'm not saying it happened, it's just a "what if" scenario...Given the sheriff's willingness to cover his tracks, I'm sure he's developed enough contacts with favor-brokers to make it look that way......Ben

If they are illegal to begin with or have a visa to be in America. I'm sure there is a stipulation in all of that paperwork that says if you dont follow our laws, your visa will be cancelled and you have to leave. I see nothing wrong with that. As far as the sheriff using that as a blackmail ploy in order to keep a sexual affair quiet, is a whole different animal. The Sheriff is wrong and should be ousted from his position as a law enforcement official for his game playing with the law.

What he and his "boyfriend" were doing makes no difference in this situation.

I'm a bit different in my thinking, do not want a queer Sheriff anywhere in the US. It seems like there springing up every where in jobs where we need professionals.

I worked with openly gay cops, and cops I suspected were gay but trying to hide it. I always trusted the open one's more, because there is nothing to hold over their heads...
"Illegal Immigrant" is not a race....

apply this logic to gays in the military. the very reason to hide it for fear of finding out or blackmail and possible security risks. just something to think about.
