Break up Bank of America ?

    Per email from 'them' ...

    "Dan,

There’s no way around it. In its current form, Bank of America poses a grave threat to our economy.

It is massive, complex and unstable — too big to manage and too big to regulate. Its assets are equal to roughly one-seventh of the U.S. gross domestic product.

If Bank of America goes down, it will take a sizeable chunk of our economy down with it.

Tell the financial regulators: Break up Bank of America.

The threat is real. Last year, Bank of America’s stock plummeted by more than 50 percent. Its exposure to numerous financial liabilities means the bank could reach a crisis point at any time.

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act gives federal financial regulators the authority to break up dangerous “too big to fail” banks into smaller, simpler and safer institutions — institutions that won’t tank our economy if they go bust.

More than $1 trillion in federal assistance* has already gone toward propping up this sprawling behemoth.

It’s time to stop propping up and start breaking up.

Join our campaign to break up Bank of America, and check out our new video about the problem.

    Thanks for all you do,

BOA was extending credit (and mortgages too I think) to folks without social security numbers a few years ago. Snopes agrees with the credit cards for illegals, Ben.

There was a time when most of us thought B of A was really a great place do do business, remember the old Bank of America card before credit cards were everywhere?

Yeah ... Bank of Americard was my first credit card way back when. I used it up to a few years ago when I went with Chase on accounta I get 1% cash-back on everything I charge on it, and I charge everything on it.

Bank of America started as Bank of Italy and helped San Franciscans rebuild after the earthquake & fire, but that was a long time ago.

They are one of the most incompetent banks i deal with in the business i am in maintaining foreclosures. Bunch of damn idiots!! I say break em up!!!
Look on the bright side of things...........

We will not have to travel half way around
the world anymore to fight Socialism and Communism.

We can do it right here at home from our front porches
and in the streets of our own nation.

Fight for Liberty will not be a slogan of a noble idea
but a reality of daily life.

Socialism and total Government control are not knocking
at the door anymore, they have walked in, invited by
the huddled masses who are determined to "vote"
    themselves the things they want.

But they have a great on-line banking computer program. That is the only reason I opened an account there recently along with the knowledge wherever you are there is almost surely a brick-and-mortar location near.

The same could be said for Washington D.C.

I've been most happy with the online banking at Compass Bank...99% of my banking is done through my home PC every morning...I haven't bought a stamp to mail a payment to anyone in years...And the few times a year I visit the branch I use, the level of service exceeds any bank I ever dealt with...Everyone even knows me by name when I walk in, and I never pay a fee or charge of any kind...

The only other bank I've been in lately was Chase last year when they offered to pay me $200.00 to open a new checking account...Next month, at the end of the mandatory six month trial period, I'll write my first check to close the account...200 bucks is not a bad six month return on a $1,300.00 investment with no fees or charges...But I'll return it to Compass where it came from......Ben

I did most of my banking both personal and business at Compass for 20 years. When I was running an active business, I literally ran million$/yr through their system and had business loans there. My farm mortgage was with them for 10 years. Last year, when I needed to refinance the farm and borrow on the considerable equity to buy time to sell the place, it took me several trips to the bank and calls to four locations for them to even get me a person to talk to. Ultimately, the person I talked to, and who was the only one I could dredge up from that institution, told me "because I had listed the property for sale in the preceding 6 months (duh!) I did not meet their guidelines for a restructured loan, and, thank you very much, but get lost bud, we don't know you now and don't give a ***** either." Compass can stick it you know where as far as I am concerned. Oh yeah, and they smiled at me when I went in there too.

Our little local credit union can do anything a big bank can do, also haven't wrote a check in ten years or more as paying online is just to easy.
