Family and Friends:
Retired Naval Captain Ron Whiten has turned me to the fact that Verizon
will award an total account discount of 15-percent to any veteran.
Supposedly, this can be submitted on-line, but I have tried that to no avail,
including working with a telephone representative.
However, I did go into the Fairfax Verizon "store" and all was accomplished;
the rub being that the representative has to submit a scanned image of your
single piece of evidence, and the website kills the attempt to submit such
an image (supposedly to product the SSAN.
Here is a menue of what should satisfy single-item proof at the store.
o DD Form 214 (Discharge from Active Duty)
o Active or Retired ID card
o Veterans Administration ID card
I'm not pimping for Verizon ... just that they provide the most complete
service for people who can't sit still in one place ....
