    99% vs 1%

"But the entire 99 percent theme is that the 1 percent isn't paying enough taxes. And whom do those taxes go to but to the administration and employment of the professional class warrior millionaires.

It is the very Everest of hypocrisy for the members of the oligarchy to be bemoaning all the extra tax money that could be used to pay their six figure salaries, while passing off their naked greed as a crusade on behalf of the oppressed.

There is nothing of working class advocacy in a government party looking to shovel more tax revenues into the insatiable gaping maw of its bureaucratic machinery. The idea that those monies will be used to help the downtrodden is a delusion that a brief glimpse at how much money went to connected companies and to the expansion of the government bureaucracy should easily cure. This isn't any 99 percent at work here." - David Greenfield

Even George Soros says that Romney will be easy for Obuma to beat----because Romney's not that much different and he's definitely in the 1%

As a very poor 99 I've enriched myself somewhat by not giving my usual $100 to the RNC this year.

As one of the 99%. i question the supposed attitude of we the 99% hating the “1%”. For several years I was fortunate enough to work for one of the 1 est % of the 1%. For the period of time I worked for KOCH Ind. not only was I paid a very good wage, I had benefits that were better than most of the rest of the U.S, workers.

Also much , i’m sure to the anguish and surprise, of many. We were not union nor did we need a union to achieve a well paying job with great benefits. [ How in the world could that have happened.] Could it possibly be that a very wealthy person built up a company and in order to keep it viable hired and payed good money to the workers.

Regardless of what you may have heard about the destruction of the environment by companies like Koch Ind, in my opinion, everything within reason was done to prevent spills. Did we have them, of course. But when they happened, every means was taken to rectify the problem and return the area to it’s original condition.

Now i suppose I should reply to the original point of the thread. Do the 1% pay a fair share of taxes ?. I for one, DON’T KNOW. What I do know is that if taxes are raised beyond a point at which it becomes more cost effective to close down an operation and move it to either another state or country, it will happen. People are not in business to loose money or to pay a huge tax to support those who have no desire or inclination to find work. Who feel as tho we the people owe them more for their failure to take advantage to the opportunities available in the U.S.

What the politicians dont seem to remember is. taxes were originally written in to pay for the reasonable cost of govt doing the peoples business. It was not meant to be a surplus account that could be used and spent on any whims the lawmakers might have. The law states that a certain percentage of earned income will be paid by all in order to run the country. It never said anything about the rich paying more and the poor paying less because of unfortunate circumstances.

We need to get back to the fundamental meanings that the founding fathers used when the country was founded. This BS that their hard work has turned into is exactly what they were running away from to begin with. They were running away from a king that was the first and last rule of law, a national church, taxes that were collected without any representation and so on. They did not want to have a country that was like the one they had left where the govt controlled the people, they made it clear that they wanted the govt to serve the people and not be able to push citizens around. The Liberals and Dems seem to have forgotten their roots and the Repubs are not far behind them. We need a whole new set of people in govt at all levels, Local, State and Federal who are not politicians but who are normal everyday citizens.A person who is not afraid to tell the public to get up off their butts and get to work, not afraid to make the hard decisions concerning their own friends and to set a higher standard of leadership when leadership is needed.

Now, all we need, is A REALLY BIG WHOLE LOT MORE OF US.

And some candidates that can show us they can do something rather than tear themselves apart. And exactly what that "something" is and how that "something" works.

And some debate monitors (NOT from the opposite Party) that will ask about those "Somethings" rather than boost their viewer numbers and personal esteem by baiting them on personal matters.

Romney, with his millions + his PAC's Millions says he's going to keep on doing the same thing. He's found out how great it works to keep the opponent on the defense
