The deficit ... One simple question

If you can answer this correctly, you can answer the real question on what action should be taken on raising the Federal debt ceiling.

You come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup and you have sewage up to your ceiling.

What do you do ... raise the ceiling, or pump out the sh!!t?

Hope there is a lot of methane gas and strike a match. Then get the house replaced because of the explosion through your insurance company.

And yes *^&$ can catch on fire.

Well the problem is and may belong to the sewer company. Is the worse case you could be charged for holding their chit best case is they replace everything.

I would find where the blockage is and get it opened before pumping or raising the roof.

In the case of the debt ceiling the blockage is the continued drain from the Treasury caused by the Bush Surplus Tax Return Program.

The so called "surplus" was depleted 10 years ago and everything that has been returned since then has contributed to the ever growing pile of ......debt.

You cant see anything other than that are you. Guess your head planted firmly in your backside prevents you from seeing how much money everybody else including your buddy BO has thrown away. Also you might want to look at the rest of Congress as they are the ones that spend the money bub.

If your wife opens the bank statement and says "OMG TxMusky we have made a mistake and have more money than we need to pay bills this month" what do you do?

Do you say " Look at our credit card balance. We need to pay those down" Or do you say "Wow, let's have a party and give money to our friends and children and let's lower the rent on that spare room we have rented out"?

If you decide to pay down the credit cards you are a conservative.

If you decide to have a party and give money away you are a nutjob and next year you will continue to charge the cost of the party and the gifts to your kids on those credit cards all the while whining about the evil power company for expecting your regular payment and you will try to find a way to blame your whole situation on the credit card company who loaned you the money.

The nutjobs won the debate back in 2000 and we are continuing to party and pay those friends so they won't hate us and now we are considering Social Security reciepents and our injured Veterans collecting disability as freeloaders

In Your case I'd guess you'd just "kick the can down the road" by just opening the doors and windows and let it drain into your wooden pool and out onto to your non-percolating driveway. You're too old for all that chit.
