I take offense to that, I am a connoisseur not a pig sir

Alison's River City album is not available yet, but it looks like its tunes have hit YouTube already. Here's a terrific one from Roger Miller's musical show, Big River, "River In The Rain." I saw this show on Broadway and the song did not impress me the way our gal's version does. She can milk a "sad, pitiful" song like hardly anyone else.

I got an email today saying my album has shipped.

I got mine yesterday---it is playing as I type
What a treat to have her back
Just for the record---she sounds just like she always has

I just discovered you can listen to Alison's new album for free if you are an Amazon Music Unlimited subscriber.

I was disappointed with her new album. To me, her voice does not fit with honky-tonk music, which too many of the tunes turned out to be with the peddle steel. My wife says her voice is just too elegant for that kind of music and I agree. Fortunately, there are a couple of jewels in there to put on a mix. I am delighted to see any dysphonia is not showing signs here if rumors are correct.
Then there's the repeat of way too many songs on the deluxe album. What-the-hell's with that?

I'm not complaining---she is back, singing on her own and that is good enough for me

Some of the world's finest musicians are not on stage. Here are nine videos of excellent performances not under contract.

The looper (#8) is remarkable to my way of hearing, and Estas Tonne (#7) is too. I've posted him before.

The many, or even most, fanatic audiophiles swear that analog phono records are much better than the various digital formats provided the listener has the correct paraphernalia to play them. They get pretty ridiculous in the lengths and expense to which they will go. I have read of turntables which sell for the $100,000 mark. That's just the turntable without the arm and cartridge. I've seen cables, which audiophiles insist make a big difference, go for tens of thousand$. I can't give a personal opinion of sound improvement though, as I have not been able to audition any of those really high end pieces. I used to think I had "golden ears," which could distinguish the finer points of music, but not so much now with age taking control although I remain quite capable of telling good earphones from poor and remain picky on that level. I did have an audiologist make some molds of my ears for some high-end in-ear head phones, which is as ridiculous as I have been willing to go. I love the convenience of digital music and hate the ticks & pops of records.
Don't get me started on Bose...
