Not for everyone, but for those that appreciate her music like I do, she has a new album, A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection, that is excellent. In this album she has several new tunes and several she has done with other artists in other venues and for their albums.
Many of the songs are quite good, but one really stands out for me - "Jacob's Dream." It is the epitome of what she calls her affinity for "Sad, Pitiful Songs," and I wanted to mention it here for those that share a love for blue grass music (or good music in general). She uses her musicians from Union Station in the album in a scattered fashion, but not as a group. In the song I mentioned, she uses a spare instrumentation featuring a superb guitar, string bass and mandolin that complements her vulnerable voice perfectly for my tastes, and when she belts out the chorus, it brings on the chills. I wept. Maybe you will too.
Listen to a bit here, although it doesn't get to the chorus, unfortunately.
