I Voted Today! Two weeks early

Yep - as the Good Administrators Of Alaska had decided last year that our little non-community no longer was worthy of our having a polling station, I can only vote absentee. And since I had to be in court today - see that thread - I voted while waiting. Today was the first day Alaskans could so vote.

Never have I split a ballot so much. Voted D, R, I, and Blank. Voted as expected for a "conservative" on some of the referendum issues, and as a "liberal" might on others.

Mustagotten really addled over the past four years, donchathink?

Thumbs up I like early voting....

....I guess in the "good old days" employers and everybody respected your right to vote....not now....gotta do it on a weekend...unless you're unemployed, of course. Then you can vote Democrat with no penalty.

I am planning to stop by at the election office tomorrow and cast my vote against every Republican on the ballot.

A lot of us Republicans are voting that way here in Walton County.

As a registered Republican I am pretty sure I will be allowed to vote. Not like those poor suckers that registered as Democrats who are having their names stricken from the voter rolls in an attempt to steal Florida for Bush again.

Well, I'm really surprised.......I did not expect you to vote for a higher deficit and numerous entitlement programs....
Too bad, the latest numbers show Kerry's budget to be about $200 billion higher than Bush the first year !!

Guess this really shows where you stand on deficit spending.........

I voted straight Republican right on down the line, including all WA state offices. OORAH!!! Also voted for statewide slot machines to screw over the Injuns. I'm sick and tired of them holding this state by the balls.

One of my earliest memories concerning politics has to do with my parents' voting in some election. (Prolly the 1844 James Polk/Henry Clay cliffhanger...)

I was as surprised as a 5? 6? 7? yo could be at my Dad's response that one of the most cherished features of our system was that a vote was absolutely private, and regardless of what one might say before an election, he - and Mom - regarded what occurred behind the voting curtain as sacrosanct (Fritz the Cat write-in?).

One of the few traits/beliefs of my parents that I've carried on.

But there would be few - maybe one or two - surprises were you to see my ballot.

Yeah, AK, my parents voted the same way. There was little if any discussion in the household regarding how they would vote before the election. I guess it just caused dissention between them. But., my mother usually went the conservative route, as did my father, and voted the democratic ticket, which at the time, was the conservative party in Texas back then.
