Question Officer with Kerry in Vietnam says Swift boat vets are lying

According to this story Chicago Tribune journalist Rood has broken his silence regarding the events that led to John Kerry's silver star. This gets more interesting all the time.

I think it's rather simple, if Kerry is going to play the military card then it should be proven. If he doesn't play the military card then it's a moot point. All this he said he said is making Don's head spin

Well, what pisses me off is that everyone is wasting so much time on this to include John Kerry. I guess it is easier for him to piss and moan and pout than it is for him to discuss the issues. That goes for everyone else who thinks this is some big thing. Like I said before - it goes to character, and I have not liked what I have seen on Kerry's part.

Excellent point RR. Too bad we're not using logic here, if we were, Kerry would simply answer the questions of his service.
He won't and will only allow his minions (527's) attack the character of the people accusing him. Funny, he's not attacking their character when the event happened, it's years later that he's concerned with.
Also funny, they don't change their story, even now.

I think any breathing human can understand that Kerry is lying by this point.

Even though I am predisposed to suspect Kerry at every turn (and do), I cannot say with certainty he is untruthful about anything having to do with his military service except John's Excellent Cambodian Adventure, which is patently false, and getting more ridiculous with each succeeding version of the tale. I think that episode is the most telling however and the most near in time, as the lies are ongoing and current. I am eagerly awaiting a real reporter sinking his teeth into Mr. Kerry on the facts of that story at some interview. I wish I had the chance.

IMHO, there is no reason for this crap. Kerry should release his records and let everything else move on.

The only reason this is even an issue is that Kerry is making part of his campaign........BFD.............

Now it's tit for tat, and that is pure bull crap. Since Kerry insisted on running on his war record, let him disclose it so we can move on.

The real issues in this election are far beyond this relatively small trivia.

I'm beginning to think that Kerry wants these issues to stay at the front so that his actual platform is not brought out to more public knowledge.

Kerry made a major mistake hashing up this old Viet Nam stuff. I for one wish he never brought it up. The new claim that he was not in Cambodia for Christmas but was in Cambodia three times in January is stupid. There is not one of the Kerry supporters that actually were on his boat that have said they too were in Cambodia three times. So unless Kerry was taking the boat out by himself, it did not happed. This is like Gore claiming he invented the INTERNET. Stupid and it will cost him the election.

The more Kerry talks the more I like Clinton.

I had never put that thought into words, but, oddly enough, me too.

A soldier views his weapon as a tool, and has to decide, second by second, whether to save a life, take a life, or give a life.

A terrorist only thinks in terms of death, and how to deliver it. Our Armed Forces personnel are not terrorists, and should never be compared to them, except to illustrate contrast.

    Talking

So, there you have it, two people back Kerry and 250 claim he's lying.

Again, very simple for Senator Kerry to clear up, lets see the 'After Action' report. He wrote it, why hide it if there is so much controversy and it is his Cornerstone Election issue and not his Congressional record over the last 19 years.

I got a big kick out of hearing the DNC operative don claim anyone pursuing this issue is spitting on vets That was exactly the beauty of Kerry and his tactics for no issues and hide your record.

Kerry better be careful how far he stretches the truth. I believe that his crew members are righteous, and some of them propably won't follow him into a pure lie. At least I'd like to think that they were just guys doing a job. They don't have the same thing at stake that the "French appearing Kerry" has.

In this little pissing match over military service, I do notice one thing: There are quite a few men who testify to Kerry's service and there are several official military records that cite his proficiency. I have not seen any fellow guardsmen step-up and testify about Bush either with regard to the AWOL claims, or his general ability. Maybe it is out there, but I have not seen it.

To me, it's ancient history either way. What I personally focus on (and this is almost certainly biased by my background of growing up as struggling lower middle class) is that Bush's rich/powerful daddy pulled strings to vault him over a long waiting list to ensure he got in the guard...a fairly safe haven, whereas Kerry volunteered to go to Vietnam. That contrast in actions tells me everything I need to know.

I still think we're screwed either way, they are both special interest whores. I am still voting Libertarian for Pres, Dem Senate, GOP House, GOP State Senate.

This is exactly why the Swift Boat Veterans need to drive this very big issue of Kerry and his character home.
People like this just use generalizing terms and refuse to listen to hundreds of men giving sworn affidavits over Kerry and his dereliction of duty.

To the contrary, men have come forward and gave their story of Bush being there for all his duty. Too bad the 1 minute news crowd missed that and besides, MTV is for Kerry so Bush must be everything the movies and books wrote and, these silly Swift boat vets have real credentials.
