    Fitness is improving

    Rode my Bicycle up some steeper hills for the first time in a few years and didn't get winded

    That's a nice shoulder on that road. Looks like plenty of room to safely bike.

    first photo is on a class A path, no cars allowed. last is a class B, the bike lane is 8 feet wide and is fairly safe (except during commute hours and on weekend afternoons when folks are driving from winery to winery for tastings).

    My brother and I did the typical 10-speed biking. Just to see if we could do it, we biked from downtown SLC to the Great Salt Lake and back (approx 100 miles). At the time I always rode into oncoming traffic, simply to be on the lookout for drivers who did not see me. I wrote about it when I was writing for the Salt Lake Tribune. Within a week, I received three angry letters from bike riding organizations accusing me of subverting laws and standard practices. At the very least, it showed me people actually read the paper.

    I like that you wear a helmet. Back in the day, we did not.
